newbie - shaping a PSTN connection
Hi - I''ve been going through the LARTC how-to and have successfully used the
sample scripts (and wondershaper) with my xDSL links.
I''m now faced with the challenge of providing 8 users at work an effective
remote access connection over a PSTN ppp connection. The critical traffic in
this case relates to our stock enquiry application which is running over
terminal services.

Win NT 4 PDC & "domain admin users" directive
Hi - I'm trying to use "domain admin users" in my smb.conf to allow
me to get a SAMBA server to notify NT clients logging in that certain
users (me) get Administrator rights on the workstation....
Can someone clarify as to whether this feature works with 2.0.7 and
if so how do I go about getting it to work.
my hair is getting a bit thin...
TIA - dan.

OT: Work offer - SAMBA consultant required in Sydney, Australia.
Hi all - sorry for the off-topic posting - just that the list of consultants on the samba site is horrendously out of date! I thought that this would be the best place for me to find suitable resources...
firstly I would like to say thanks a million to all the samba team for your ongoing efforts and great product. I just wish I had more time to experiment with it!
We have the startings of a good

...I was able to build a source rpm of 2.2.1a for PPC but when I upgraded it
conflicted with samba-common and samba-client.
Is it ok to force install over these or do I need them in sync? I was unable
to find source rpms for either.

ADSL with PPP failover
Hi - I''ve been looking around for simple answers to this for a while now,
but haven''t been able to find any HOW-TO type documentation. I am
administering a site with a remote location connected primarily via a cipe
tunnel over a SHDSL connection. We also have a direct PSTN connection
between the sites. Seeing as phone calls here are not timed I plan to keep
the PSTN connection

Hi - I posted this to the NT list but have had no responses so far...
not sure if it's more appropriate here anyway - hopefully someone can
give me some direction with this problem...
I've been trying to set up a server to act as a roaming profiles /
file server for a bunch of NT 4.0 machines and some 98 machines, and
am having two issues, one I'm reasonably sure is an NT

samba printing 2.2.5 - RPC server is unavailable
Hiya - oh so close to getting our samba 2.2.5 server running at last -
but being palgued by printer setup problems... I've never quite been
able to get printing working 100% under samba and am beginning to wonder
if it's a problem with the way the printing subsystem is set up under
Redhat.
Anyway - I've got samba installed and acting as PDC for a variety of
