D-Link announces Asterisk on Router/DSL-Modem
Found this today: D-Link has apparently positioned itself to challenge the AVM Fritz!Box (which is an analog & ISDN home PBX including DSL modem, router, LAN & WLAN). The PBX service of this device called "HorstBox Professional" DVA- G3342SB will be provided by Asterisk, and it should become available sometime around Q2/2006 for aprox. 450 EUR (let me add that this is twice as much as the Fritz!Box). I wonder, though, why does HorstBox sound a bit like HoaxBox? ;-> http://www.tecchannel.de/news/them...

New Open Source CTI client for Asterisk
...Manager API, so no additional software is required on the Asterisk server. You can find it on Sourceforge as http://abcti.sourceforge.net Basic functionality is already there: Originate, Transfer, Hangup, show status, show incoming calls, history. Anx...

On some of the phones, two lines are configured, one for business, one for private calls. When forwarding a line to another destination (e.g. to voicemail), we can't use the phone's own forwarding mechanism, because it forwards all configured lines, and s...

Besides that, you should disable SRV lookups

scratchy sound
Hi, I'm experiencing a few (but meaningful) cases of audio distortion (or bad quality). I can't say yet how often this happens. Please listen to the following sound file: http://213.96.91.201/temp/distorted_audio_1.wav This was recorded by Asterisk while the local SIP caller was dialing out a SIP trunk (so the problem is on my side, definitely, and it doesn't seem to be related to
