Samba 4.0.9 winbind isn't passing through uid and gid numbers from Win 2003 R2
...know the uid's and gid's are set up properly in Windows as the following:
net ads search '(|(uidNumber=*)(gidNumber=*))' objectCategory
sAMAccountName uidNumber gidNumber -P
shows for instance:
sAMAccountName: user
objectCategory:
CN=Person,CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=the-four-horsemen,DC=org
uidNumber: 10004
gidNumber: 10004
I can see in the winbindlog the gid at least coming back as the wrong
number:
userinfos: struct wbint_userinfo
acct_name : *
acct_name :...

How to have 'o' == 'ö'
Greetings,
(using acts_as_ferret)
So I have a book title "M?ngrel ?Horsemen?" in my index.
Searching for "M?ngrel" retrieves the document.
But I would like searching for "Mongrel" to also retrieve the document.
Which it does not currently.
Anyone have any good solutions to this problem?
I suppose I could filter the documents and queries first w...

printing permissions problem
...rver and lpr is run. However, lpr is run as nobody,
and cups doesn't seem to like this, because when I su to nobody and try to
run lpr, it asks for a password.
How would I get cups to not require a password for nobody?

Debian sarge release and dovecot
In what must surely be the first sign of the apocalypse, Debian is
actually freezing in preperation for a new release. Probably the last day
for uploads will be August 17. Is there likely to be another dovecot
release by then? In the event of 0.99.10.9 being the released version,
are there any other patches Debian users would like me to include?

What happened with portaudit?
Hello,
One of my machines I got a report about 3 vulnerable packages (php4,
ruby, openssl) in tomorrows security run output, but in today's security
run output all of them disappeared, but nobody upgraded or removed the
affected packages. I reinstalled portaudit, refreshd its database, but
now it reports 0 affected pakages. The pkg_info command lists that three
packages, so they are
