Office XP? Windows XP dlls? mIRClocked up.
...hen freezes after about 30 seconds. I normally use KVirc for IRC in linux, which I prefer actually, but I am just testing wine at this point. Eventually I will try to get games going. I know I have a few questions here, but whatever help anyone can give is appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joe Hoot

OT: Unix/Linux Training Online
...and on that and learn more about linux. Oreillyschool.com has a somewhat affordable online certificate course in UNIX/linux admin. The downside is I do not know if there credits would ever transfer if I wanted to build on that. Has anyone taken there course or know anyone that did? Is it worth a hoot? Is there a better option? Is a simple certificate worth that much anyway? Matt

find_window_by_xxx doesn''t find Gauge or BitmapButton
I''m fairly new to the Ruby world, particularly WxRuby, so please forgive me if this is ground that''s been covered in the past. I''m trying to load a frame from an XRC file (created using DialogBlocks), and I''m having trouble getting an instance of the Gauge object using the Wx::Window.find_window_by_xxx methods. I''m trying this on Windows XP,

Nortel IP phones?
Howdy- Has anyone on the list implemented Nortel IP telephones (the exact name escapes me at the moment) with *? Doing some work for a small trading firm which needs a phone to have the ability to dial into a improvised hoot-n-holler system (* conference), so it needs speakerphone, and multi-line capability. Also, I'm open to cisco phones, going to look at those now. Internet Explorer Install
I read the wine apps notes about Internet Explorer and searched through the mailing list. While installing MS Office 2000, It asked to reboot. I did less /c/windows/WinInit.ini. It says: [Rename] NUL=C:\WINDOWS\ttfCache The note in the IE apps section said to either remove this file or, better yet, do what it says. I don't understand what this is saying. I know that it is trying to

smbclient, kerberos, and EMC
...case and the system name in upcase. The TGT-REP, however, has the Realm in the cleartext "Ticket" part in uppercase as well as the target system name. I have observed MIT KRB5 1.3.4 being a bit more picky about these things than earlier versions, and Micro$oft doesn't seem to give a hoot about case. Note, smbclient never actually tries to contact the EMC beyond the NegProt exchange. smbclient + kerberos (same binary as above) *is* happy going against my Windows2000 domain controller. In this situation, I notice the NetProt response has the server name in lowercase and the realmn...

Poor-man's paging through multiple phones?
We're mostly Cisco CallManager with some SIP and Asterisk. I want someone at one of our locations to be able to dial and number and have Asterisk simultaneously dial several Call-Manager extensions which are set to auto-answer and talk into the phone creating a sort of paging system. We have informacast, but it is too cumbersome for the users. I know Asterisk can ring several phones at the

aaccli on recent conrollers?
I have just built a new SunFire X4100 server with an Adaptec 2230SLP RAID card using FreeBSD 6.2-PRE kernel (from September 20). Everything is working extremely well except I cannot run the aaccli utility on this controller. When I try to open the controller, it gives this error: Command Error: <The current AFAAPI.DLL is too old to work with the current controller software.> On

google chrome future / centos 7
I'm seeing the following banner when I start up google-chrome 48-beta (48.0.2564.48 beta (64-bit)) on my 7.2 machines: This computer will soon stop receiving Google Chrome updates because this Linux system will no longer be supported. Does this portend a support issue for chrome on centos-7 in a few months when the underlying changes make their way into their -stable (since, as I

Internet Explorer 5.5 Install
I'm currently trying to get Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5 installed. I have been successful in installing Microsoft OFfice 2000, however I can't save any files or open any files, but in any case that is installed. WHen I try to run MS Access or Frontpage, it complains obout IE not being installed. Therefore, I'm trying to get it going. When I try to install Internet Explorer 5.0
