Hi there, I was wondering if someone can assist with clarifying why O_EXCL does not always work with NFS. Is it related to NFS protocol version support or export permissions mode out of the Celerra/Netapp ( e.g: mixed mode, unix file permissions ? ) Please advise. Thanks. Regards, new dovecot user.

...ugh I find that it is gone when I use smbclient to access the server (this gives the correct picture). Moreover, the new share I posted doesn't appear in my client's explorer until a few minutes later. Any ideas where the problem may lie (if it is not an expected situation)? Thanks hoongshen

For NT, there is no problem because I can specify the user, but 95/98 only allows me to specify the password to connect to the $IPC. Any hints on where I can find a workaround to this problem?
