Disable local login check Winbind
...ns so I'd
like to disable it. In the past when Winbind would be having a problem I
could not logon to the box due to it being checked in the login
procedure.
Winbind is used for AD intergration, but should not be used or checked
for allowing users to login locally.

Samba 3.0.33/3.2.15 AD joined slow initial connect with LDAP backend
I'm hoping someone can help me with the following. I currently have 2
Samba fileservers version 3.0.23d joined to our corporate Active
Directory. Clients currently are Windows XP. I'm asked to prepare to
migrate XP to Windows 7. From testing it looks like Samba 3.0.23d is not
compatible with Windows 7. Therefor I started testing with the latest
RHEL5 version 3.0.33-3.1e.el5 on RHEL5.

for aslong as the migration will take I need both the NT4 domain and the AD
domain to be able to access shares on the samba server.
Many thanks in advance,

Samba/Winbind slow with Active Directory
...3.0.25a. I'm having a problem with the
winbind daemon crashing a lot. doing an 'ls -la' in a directory with
Active Directory groups assigned to directories is enough to crash it. I
did a bug report on bugzilla.
