GSM modems
Hi all,
I am interested in interfacing a GSM modem to *. I've seen a few
comments about doing this, but I'm not clear whether people have
actually made it work. I've used GSM modems for various data jobs,
mostly high volume SMS (no, not nasty marketing stuff - high volume
solicited SMS :-) ) . These only have analogue ports for voice. Does
anyone know of units with digital voice

Imagine this scenario:
I'm running samba 3.0.10 on debian sarge and i mount there a
windows-share using:
mount -t smbfs -o uername=niko,password=xxx //niko/test /mnt
On the windows-client (WinXP SP2, same with win2k) i have a local user
named "niko" and a share ("test") where "niko" has full-access-rights.
