Fw: Btrfs Samba and Quotas
...one of you has experience with this samba in conjunction with BTRFS and quotas.
I am using Openmediavault (debian based NAS distribution), which is not actively supporting btrfs. It uses quotas by default, and I think, that me using btrfs is causing troubles...
In the logs I find:

Samba Newbie
...#39; only
NT is referenced. I'm trying to put a business case together to convince
management that this is a viable alternate strategy for the long term
future.
Has anyone put a document together that might contribute to this
business case?

How to access an automounted home and read/write with AD user
hello,
I have samba 3.0.21c on an aix 5.2.0.7 server configured to use active
directory authentication. However, I need to do something a little
funky:
The server with samba I will call: sambaserver
A server with a user's home directory that is automounted on a few
other servers: homeserver
The user has on homeserver his files that he works on that he
conveniently has automounted on development, test, qa servers. He is
used to checking out code from a code repository into a samba share that
maps to his home directory on homeserver. This way he can move code
around between develo...

SSL / TLS Problem
Hi,
since I upgraded to the new Thunderbird version 3.1 I can't establish a
TLS/SSL connection anymore. But before the update Thunerbird was able to
establish an encrypted session ...
Maillog shows me the following now:
server dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts):
rip=84.157.133.248, lip=192.168.1.100, TLS handshaking: SSL_accept()

Bind Error with Sambe under Redhat 8.0
...have the following error in the smbd log file:
[2003/03/02 19:28:51, 0]
lib/util_sock.c:open_socket_in(804)
bind failed on port 139 socket_addr = 0.0.0.0.
Error = Address already in use
Thus samba never starts.
How do i solve this problem?
Thankx.

Checksum fletcher4 or sha256 ?
Hi,
I''m atmost ready to deploy my new homeserver for final testing.
Before I want to be sure that nothing big is left untouched.
Reading ZFS Admin Guide About the checksum method, there''s no advice about it.
The default is fletcher4. there''s also SHA256
Now the sha256 is pretty ''heavy'' to calculate, so I thin...

weird home share problem
Hi list
During my samba3 pdc ldap backend set up I encountered a new problem. I
configured in smb.conf the mounting of the home share as followed:
logon path = # I don't want roaming profiles
logon drive = H:
logon home = \\homeserver\%u
logon script = logon.bat
[homes]
comment = Home dirs
valid users = %S
read only = No
browseable = No
Well after logging in it executes the login.bat or the defined one in
ldap tree and mounts the \\server\user to H:. Now it works perfectly but
the weird thing is, after logg...

Cheap ZFS homeserver.
So after toying around with some stuff a few months back I got bogged down and set this project aside for a while. Time to revisit. <BR><BR>
Looking around there still is not a good "these cards/motherboards" work list. the HCL is hardly ever updated, and its far more geared towards business use than hobbyist/home use. So bearing all of that in mind I will need the
