But when I tried out (R-1.2.1 on Linux and Mac) e.g. points(1,1,bg="white") I could always see through the "O". Is this a bug or am getting something wrong? Just a tip. If you create users with RSAT and you also uses unix id's ( UID/GID ) Used with AD backend. The first assign the UID/GID and then apply the home dir folders in RSAT.
