With all of this hokey-pokey surrounding licensing and mac addresses, I wonder if this outfit is actually still in compliance with the terms of their license for this software, whatever it may be?
If the software licensed to run only on Machine X and Machine X has now been junked and replace by Machine Y, then isn'...

T1/E1 Cards
This is probably a really bad question to ask but here goes. Does
asterisk work with any of the T1/E1 cards from SBE? I'm sure SBE is
a competitor to Digium, but I have access to SBE cards and the linux
driver. Just curious more than anything. Thanks.

External HD on CentOS 5.5
I'm looking into backing up my CentOS 5.5 system using an external USB
2.0 hard drive. Anyone with experience with Toshiba Canvio USB 750 GB
unit? I'm backing up to DVDs now and would like to streamline the process.
Any advice is welcome with thanks.

Multi-line plots - max Y?
Hi all,
OK, I'm struggling a bit with getting good basic plots so I put
together this little example. It works - sort of - but it seems a bit
hokey to me. Can someone suggest how a pro would do it?
The goal is to take data from 4 columns of a data.frame (data read
in by read.csv) and generate a plot with the borders and text in black
and three lines in different colors. The code below generates that but
loses data because the second and th...

"Real" API for Perl?
Hi, all. I've used the perl/AGI interface, and... well, I found it kind
of hokey. Granted, this was in 1.2 days -- perhaps things have changed.
Regardless, I guess I have two questions:
1) Has the Perl/AGI "binding" improved since then?
2) Is there any chance of a "real" API for Perl?
Thanks much!

Eager load associations in Oracle problem with more than 1000 records
I think Rails 2.1 introduced a bug when eager loading of associations
with Oracle. In 2.1 ActiveRecord loads the included table with a big
''IN'' query: ''where association.id in (1, 2, 3, 4...)''. The problem
is that Oracle has a hard limit of 1000 values in an IN clause. I get
this error:
''OCIError: ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list

vfs_fruit: FreeBSD: attrname is wrong
In case of FreeBSD, the name of the extended attribute is wrong.

"netatalk.Metadata" is incompatible to Netatalk.

R Internal Web Server Loopback Interface Limit
...We could live without the help files, but it would be neat to allow others to access the small web-based R scripts for R.rsp since it already has a web-server built-in.
I setup a reverse proxy on the same box that shuffles inbound traffic to 127.0.0.1:<port number>, but this is an extremely hokey solution :)

Hang with openssh when using rsync on redhat 6.2
...response from the remote rsync and tries to write it back to the local
rsync, but the fact that the write is so large (50K) and that the read
side (from ssh's perspective) of the pipe is full causes the kernel to
go to sleep waiting for the pipe to clear. Hence the deadlock. It
sounds sort of hokey since I would have expected the read and write
buffers of a pipe to be completely independent of eachother, but if they
are somehow shared for writes >32K then that would explain the problem.
The fact that it happens at different points of the rsync does support
the theory though.
One interest...

Extensions +International
This should be easy, but I can't find the right wildcard.
Right now I have....
exten => _9011.,n,Dial(${TRUNK}/${EXTEN:${TRUNKMSD}},,wW)
for international and for local
exten => _9NXXXXXX,n,Dial(${TRUNK}/${EXTEN:1},,wW)
The problem is if the call isn't typed in, then you press dial, we have
problems... Example:
I pick up the handset and get a dialtone. I press 9011331234567 or

results in the appearance of the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the

So anyone know if this is a bug? I suppose I could mitigate the problem

Non-default Domain group RID and NAS problem....
...s." :)
The tech note also says that the NAS is trying to resolve CIFS SIDs (for
Domain Guests and Users) that don't exist and after a lot of these
errors CIFS starts to misbehave..
Since they (EMC) don't support Samba, I figured I would try to come up
with a strategy. It is pretty hokey, but to make CIFS work on the NAS,
we have a script that creates a passwd and group file from LDAP and
copies same onto the NAS every hour. So right now it is copying Domain
XXX" groups into that group file with 25xx GIDs.
I am guessing the original intent of using 25xx GIDs was to get them...
