[lldb-dev] Trying out lld to link windows binaries (using msvc as a compiler)
...tting a patch along those lines though, I think
it would be a good addition.
I'm not sure what the best place for it would be. llvm-readobj and
llvm-objdump seem like obvious choices, but they are intended to be
read-only, so perhaps they wouldn't be a good fit.
llvm-pdbutil is kind of a hodgepodge of everything else related to PDBs and
symbols, so I wouldn't be opposed to making a new subcommand there called
"ghash" or something that could process an object file and output a new
object file with a .debug$H section.
A third option would be to make a new tool for it.

gnome 2.12 via yum?
Hello,
I was asked a question regarding centos that i do not know the answer. I
don't use gnome or x on any box i deploy for production use so haven't
checked in to this. CentOS4 comes with gnome 2.8 from what i was told, the
question is is it possible to do an update rpmwise to gnome 2.12 via yum? If
so, what repositories do i need to enable to pull this off and what if any

New Samba PDC for medium-sized mixed client domain
Hi all,
I've recently inherited sysadmin duties for what is currently a
badly-networked hodgepodge of Windows XP and 7 machines (currently about
50, but slowly growing). I would like to tie them to a domain, and we
have a separate requirement for a common staff fileshare. We have a
third-party contractor quoting later this week for what I suspect will
be a Windows Server based network, and I...

CUPS backend question - Samba 4
...ngs!!
Daniel,
Thank you for all of your questions/suggestions. The documents you gave
are those that I was working with.
To answer your first question, due to various restrictions and
requirements there are two domains (no trusts in S4 yet) that both must
access the printers. Things are a various hodgepodge of real and virtual
machines, physical and virtual subnets, etc. Over the next year or two,
I will be able to separate the two domains permanently and the two
groups of nets/subnets. For now, I cannot. Memory and CPU are at a
premium in this installation until then. So, if there is any way I can
ke...

programatically stopping acts_as_ferret drb server
I need a way to kill the ferret_server drb process programatically, so I
can start/stop it as part of the capistrano deployment process.
This should be as simple as adding some sort of stop method to
ActsAsFerret::Remote::Server. I was just messing around and was able to
do it by modifying method_missing to look for the :stop method and then
calling DRb.thread.exit -- this is not good enough for

Again kea DHCP-Server
...lex when you first approach it. Mainly, that?s because
there?s too much text book documentation and not enough basic example and
HOWTO out there (yet). KEA is definitely capable of being much more complex
than traditional ISC DHCPd that we all know and love? However?
3. ISC DHCPd has become quite a hodgepodge of hacks and a conglomeration
of code spaghetti over the years as various ornaments got hung on the DHCP
tree. KEA is a concerted effort by ISC to step back and look at creating a clean
server with all the modern capabilities needed in a reference implementation
of DHCP that provides literally ever...

How small can a compiled smbd/nmd be?
Hi.
We have some interest in using samba as a file server on a small device,
but we have some problems with low amount of space on our target machine,
the question is how low can we go?
So far we have just made a quick samba packages that requires 22mb of
space, however since we are not experts on samba, it could be us that are
stupid :)
What we want to have is a:

/boot partition or not on C5
hello,
the last 3 times I installed C5, the MBR was unchanged and nothing was written into /boot/grub except splash.xbm.gz
there were no stage* files, nor a menu.lst
I know how to fix that.
Would I have better luck using a partition mounted as /boot?
Anyone succeded with Grub that way? I prefer not having to do surgery to get C5 to boot :)

CUPS backend question - Samba 4
Hello,
I have a DC that sits on a different subnet from the CUPS server that I
would like to use. I would rather not install CUPS on the DC.
Is it possible to change the server name away from localhost for the
CUPS backend and have it connect to that other server to get the
printers (load printers = yes) and print to that server? Must I have a
CUPS installation on the DC?
Thank you,
Trever

[lldb-dev] Trying out lld to link windows binaries (using msvc as a compiler)
Hi,
No I didn't, I used cl.exe from the visual studio toolchain. What I'm
proposing is a tool for processing .obj files in COFF format, reading them
and generating the GHASH part.
To make our build faster we use hundreds of unity build files (.cpp's with
a lot of other .cpp's in them aka munch files) but still have a lot of
single .cpp's as well (in total something like 3.4k
