WINS.DAT getting wrong address automatically?
Hi, I've got a Samba domain running across two networks. One of the Samba servers has a HiPPI NIC on it, used only for point-to-point connections, and unreachable from everywhere on both networks. The problem is that for some reason, nmbd is registering the HiPPI NIC's address instead of the Ethernet (correct) address for the machine. Anyone ever seen something like this before? I'm

Numbers as Points in Graphs
I am trying to produce a simple plot where the points in the plot are actually integers from my data. That is, I am making a length/width plot and I would like the points, rather dots or triangles, appear as different numbers corresponding to a column in my data. I have tried using this: ...,pch="column title" but this merely returns the first letter of the column title, B. Is there

Grid building in R
This might not possible in R but I thought I would give it shot. I am have to set up a 40 x 40 cm grid of 181 points equidistant from each other. Is there any way to produce a graph with R that can do this for me? Actual sizes are unimportant as long it is to scale. An expression of appreciation
...is account. MWLH are often mis-identified as "hippies" for example; while there is significant overlap between these groups, and one could trace modern acceptance of MWLH back to that rebellious 1960's sub-culture, the populations are far from identical. I myself have been called a hippy multiple times, and although my older brother was the real deal, I certainly am not. I was unable to get a proper count or even estimate of the number of MWLH at EuroLLVM, but I have to say just the informal observation of so many others of my own kind was enough to warm my heart. I was especiall...

Problems with Package Installation.
I am having difficulty installing packages. For example, here I have tried to install "gplots" but to no avail. I have tried multiple mirrors and different packages (errbar) but after installation I seem to be unable to access any of the commands or help pages. I am a little concerned about the 'lib' missing message but this has been present for previous successful package

[offtopic] JavaScript and ServiceWorkers in FireFox
This is a bit off-topic but the question exists due to the FireFox in CentOS 7. Few websites I have visited (e.g. LiveScience.com) the browser asks me if it can give me notifications. I always say no because of bad experiencies with notifications on Android where notification spam is the largest reason why I dislike the Android operating system (screwed up update system is the second reason,

OT: Fixing Messages To Be RFC 2822 Compliant
So....apparently I have some messages which are not RFC compliant sitting in my mailboxes (mostly older ones), and I have some software which is refusing to handle such messages. 1. Does anyone know of a nice way to verify that all my messages are compliant/find those that aren't? (I suppose I could use the existing failing software, but I was hoping for something a little more robust...) 2.

Gentoo and Asterisk - any experiences?
Hi, In constant search for optimization, a friend told us about his experience with Gentoo Linux-distro. He claimed that he doubled the performance of his server by changing to Gentoo from Debian. Does anyone have any experience with running Asterisk on a Gentoo linux? /Niels --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.801

rails on emacs - need a working .emacs sample
I would like to hear from some one who has ecb, multiple modes with ruby mode + html mode, rails mode all working together and playing well. I had ecb working with Ruby syntax highlighting. That was a no-brainer since I just had to apt-get them on my Debian Sarge box. It got a bit more comlex after I got most of the .el files in the articles http://www.emacswiki.org/cgi-bin/emacs/RubyOnRails

Rack content-length Rack::Lint::LintErrors errors with unicorn
