Hello R users wiser than I - I am trying to produce a boxplot with quantiles defined by the type 6 algorithm used mainly by Minitab and SPSS for a comparison study. I found how to compare the results in tabular form using the quantile(x, type = 6) function, but am stuck on how to show the results in a summary boxplot form. Is it possible to completely customize a boxplot so that it shows means as the bar (instead of, not as well as medians), standard deviations at the hinges (instead of IQR) and 5th & 95th percentiles at the brackets? The plotmeans function (ggplots) allows means to be plotted, but it seems only with confidence intervals, not 5th and 95th percentiles, and also without hinges (for standard deviations). Dear r-help, Unfortunately I cannot find in the documentation what determines ranges of a 'box' in the box-and-whisker plot.
