update_va_mapping_otherdomain
...to zero
Upon successful return from update_va_mapping (i.e. return code == zero),
my problem involves the last step mentioned above. The present bit still
remains unchanged (is still one), although update_va_mapping return true.
What might cause such a strange problem to occur?

[Fwd: Samba-3 By Ex Chapt 3]
One more thing I forgot to mention. The chapter calls for editing
/etc/resolv.conf, but in my case it won't stay edited--it keeps getting
set back to an original form (for searching my ISP) on every reboot.
Thanks again.

OT: NIC
Folks,
I'm trying to add a network interface card to my SUSE 9.3 box, and
I'm not having much luck with a US Robotics version. What
manufacturer do any of you use in your machines--either 10/100MB or GigE NIC?
Thanks

[Fwd: Re: [Fwd: Re: Won't Start Automatically]]
Actually, my problem turns out to be even more basic and foolish than
that. I assumed that since the relevant Kill files were present in the
ls listing, then the Start files would be, too. Nope. I had to make
those soft links; when I did, everything worked properly.

Hi,
ntsysv doesn't list the samba daemons (smbd, nmbd), and while I could
use chkconfig, it appears, to add the daemons, I'd rather do this via
the rcx.d links so I can understand what's going on.

remove wins entries - samba 3
Hi,
I am having the same problem. Did you figure out how to do this? Any
help in how to remove stale WINS entries from Samba would be greatly
appreciated.

Stable Network Down

I eventually cleared the problem by rebooting the Samba
server--everything is running properly, now. However, rebooting seems
excessive. In future, what sorts of things typically go wrong to produce
this type of failure? For what should I be looking?
Thanks

netlogon problems

rejected. I've run the login.bat from the Windows machines, and that also
only gets access denied. Share valid users is set to %G (%U lets the user

I put an FQN in the search line (lserver1.test.biz), which is what
dhclient-script does when it rewrites the file, then smb restarts OK.
Also, John's example has several instantiations of named running; I have
only one.

How can I stabilize the NIC/IP address/ethx assignments?
What other information does anyone need to help me with this?
Thanks very much.

in /etc/rc.d/init.d that is soft-linked from the rcx.d directories, and

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ignore client-updates;
This has worked well, so far.
