how to remove rows in which 2 or more observations are smaller than a given threshold?
Hello
The data set I am examining has 7425 observations (rows with unique
identifiers) and 46 samples(columns).
I have been trying to generate a dataset that filters out observations
that are "negligible"
The definition of "negligible" is absolute value less or equal to 1.58.
The rule that I would like to adopt to create a new data is: drop rows
in which 2 or more

improve meta data performance
We have a SunFire X4500 running Solaris 10U5 which does about 5-8k nfs ops
of which about 90% are meta data. In hind sight it would have been
significantly better to use a mirrored configuration but we opted for 4 x
(9+2) raidz2 at the time. We can not take the downtime necessary to change
the zpool configuration.
We need to improve the meta data performance with little to no money. Does

In an attempt to go back to the drawing board and learn RoR some more -
I have built the depot application from the agile book.
After finishing I tried to create a user for the admin section, however
when ever I go to:
http://localhost:3000/login/add_user
It redirects to the login action, I don''t see the [add user] submit
button??
I am sure this is connected to the

Dear Helpers,
I just started working with R and I'm a bit overloaded with information.
My data is from marsupials reindroduced in a area. I have weight(wt),
hind foot
lenghts(pes) as continues variables and origin and gender as categorial.
condition is just the residuals i took from the model.

Can this box handle 8 T1s (PSTN) with Asterisk?
Hi all,
I am handed a project to setup *. The requirement is that it can handle
8 T1s. Half of the calls coming into the system will be routed to SIP
extensions (with transcoding). The machine we have in our disposal is a
new dual Xeon 3.2gHz server with 2g of ram and an dual 1000mb nic. Voice
will be coming in from the PSTN (through 2 quad digium cards) in
g711ulaw, and most of the time will

radrails gone mad
Hi *,
I have been using radrails as an IDE for awhile now and we were getting
along just fine - but recently it has just gone totally postal?!??
I created a new rails app - when I click to expand the folders there is
no framework in place, just the root folder of the app.
To add insult to injury two weeks of work also just disapeered - I kid
you not just gone without any deletion on my part.

Output of binary representation
...D18P+1" from
sprintf() and parse it out into binary using gsub() or the like,
of submit it to say an 'awk' script via an external file, this would
be a tedious business!
Is there some function already in R which outputs the bits in the
binary representation directly?
I see that Dabid Hinds asked a similar question on 17 Aug 2005:
"Raw data type transformations"
http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02/archive/59900.html
(without, apparently, getting any response -- at any rate within
the following 3 months).
With thanks for any suggestions,
Ted.

Qustionmark in permission and Owner
Hello,
I have a strange problem on a gluster volume
If I do an "ls -l" in a directory insight a mountet gluster-volume I
see, only for some files, questionmarks for the permission, the owner,
the size and the date.
Looking at the same directory on the brick it self, everything is ok.
After rebooting the nodes everything is back to normal.
System is Debian 11 and Gluster is version

Goodness of fit for hclust?
.... Something that would indicate the
extent to which the dendrogram accurately represents the original
dissimilarity matrix. Is there an easy way to do this?
Or, does anyone have code for computing distances between nodes given
an hclust structure? So far, my searches have come up dry.

Hello,
sorry if the question was asked a couple of times before but I couldn't
find any useful hinds to this problem using google and the listman
search-engine of the archive of this list.
Somehow the ext3 filesystem on one of my machines died an after a reboot
grub wouldn't come up again.

Hello R-helpers
I hope that my subject line is not detering anyone from helping me out:)
I have been stuck of a few hours now, and I don't seem to pinpoint
where the problem is.
I have a data.frame which is structured as follow:
