What would be required for this?
Hey All,
I have a question that I'm curious about. I want to
set up a 4 phone system in my home with 2 actual lines
coming into the house. Both or just regular lines
(not sure of this matters?), one being VoIP and the
other just a regular analog line. For now though I
just want the VoIP line coming in, but would like the
ability to expand to 2 lines in the future. What type
of hardware is

Cheap PoE switches/injectors?
I'm trying to spec out hardware for a new office, and I'd like to
include power over Ethernet as an option. I've seen a handful of PoE
injectors around $1000 for 24 ports and a couple switches up around
$2500 for 24 ports. Are there any cheaper options, short of buying a
boatload of 1-port injectors off of ebay? I don't really need more
then 24 ports of PoE out of 48 total

Calling an outside phone number as part of a hunt
I'm trying to see if this is even possible.
When you dial ext 2000 I want it to ring my sip phone for 20 sec then
call my cell and let it ring for 10 sec if I do not pick up the call on
my cell I would like it to go back to * and leave a voice message for
me. Here is what I have so far in my extensions.conf
Everything works except the call will not go back to * after the 10 sec
rule has

Cameron Palmer / voiceglo
I found a message in the archives from Cameron Palmer on 23 Dec regarding
his voiceglo SIP configuration. Unfortunately (for me), the archive has
his email address removed.
So, Cameron -- or anybody else using voiceglo with their * box -- please
reply to me so that I can get your email address and ask you a question
about your setup.
Thanks,
Greg

make asterisk ignore password in sip register
I am looking for a way to set my * so that it'll accept REGISTERs with a
particular username, regardless of the password used. Snooping the network
traffic suggests that the password is sent in digest or some other
non-plaintext format, so I don't suppose there is an easy way for me to
find out what password is being sent. As a workaround, I thought maybe I
could tell * to accept the

using round-robin dns for sip registrations
I finally decided to get a little source code dirt under my fingernails
tonight and dig through chan_sip.c to understand how registrations are
currently implemented. The hope is to perhaps at least seed some ideas
about how to make registrations to a server name, which resolves to
multiple IPs, either attempt each IP in the order they're returned by dns,
or, simply attempt to register with
