How to use alias interface ?
HiHo, I'm using wine since a couple of years for a private Diablo game server. Now, while installing a new server I've a problem where neither the Wine-Doc nor the Wine-Faq or Google could help me in any way. My problem with the new server is that I need to configure (or better restrict) my...

[LLVMdev] Simplifying a front-end project

Hiho, I'm a student and I'm a beginner in LLVM; I think the API is quite straight-forward and easy to learn (most of the time). However, the biggest hurdle for me is the autogenerated documentation indeed. It is not badly organized; it's just missing out a lot. Often I find myself pokin...

Promise TX4302 working with -stable?
Hiho! :-) I'm planning to buy a Promise TX4302. The idea is to just plug in some disks via esata and then put zfs on them. Anybody got some experience with the TX4302? Googling didn't really turn up much, so I guess the controller "just works"? :-) Greetings, Marc

Compiling wine on debian-unstable amd64
Hi, I try to build wine-1.1.26 on debian unstable (amd64) linked to ia32 libs. I installed ia32-apt-get and nvidia-glx-ia32 and all ia32-lib*, which are buildependencies for wine-1.1.23 in experimental on i386. The configure ends successfully but the build finished with gcc -m32 -c -I. -I. -I../../include -I../../include -D__WINESRC__ -D_NTSYSTEM_ -D_REENTRANT -fPIC -Wall -pipe

Storing passwords in LDAP, but not a PDC
Hello, Is it possible to store samba passwords in ldap without configuring samba as a PDC? All the documents/references I've come across are related to using LDAP as a samba PDC backend, not as just a db file replacement. Thanks, David Filion

__stderrp problem again with tk83
Hiho, I just stumbled across the problem with the unresolved __stderrp symbol. I've read the existing threads to that, as well as UPDATING. However, there are some differences, between the reported problems and my problem: 1. the unresolved symbol is not complained about in libm, but in libtk83...

file corruption
Hi to all! I've been using samba for about six months: I've set up a file server, replacing a small windows 2000 server. I'm using samba 3.0.21c on a linux slackware 10.2. It is used to share two spreadsheet programs and file connected to them... Everything runs fine, except for a file, which is processed and saved several times in a day. After few weeks, this files got corrupted and

SAMBA+LDAP in a Workgroup
Hi, This may be a dumb question (I'm new with this), but is it possible to use SAMBA in combination with LDAP in a Workgroup? All the manuals and examples I can find, are talking about Domains and PDCs. I have to set up a new Samba server and checkout LDAP but I'm not allowed to change the Workgroup settings... Now we use smbpasswd... Is LDAP worth the effort and time? Kind

Question regarding performance of dovecot-1.0.15
Hi, I have a dovect 1.0.15 on my mailserver and as a Client I use offlineimap. Since some time now my mailsynchronisation got slow - I don't know exactly where the problem is, but I tried to track it down. Usually the UID-Searches are fast (according to the offlineimap-debugging) but as soon as it comes to big folders it takes a long time: [..] DEBUG[imap]: 37:15.22 < * 1
