Unable to run smoother in qplot() or ggplot() - complains about knots
I get the following error when I run qplot()
qplot(grade, read,data = hhm.long.m, geom = c("point", "smooth"))
Error in smooth.construct.cr.smooth.spec(object, data, knots) :
x has insufficient unique values to support 10 knots: reduce k.
I am not sure how to tackle this problem. When I take a subsample (<
1000) than I am able to run that fun...

variance specification using glm and quasi
...rivedi in their 1998 Regression Analysis of Count Data refer to
NB1 and NB2
NB1 is the negative binomial model with variance = mu + (alpha * mu^1)
yielding (1+alpha)*mu
NB2 sets the power to 2; hence, variance = mu + (alpha*mu^2)
I think that NB2 can be requested via
negbin2<-glm(hhm~sex+age,family=quasi(var="mu^2",link="log"))
Is that right? If so, how I can get NB1? The quasi family appears to be very
limited in variance specification options.
Thanks,
Jeff

Problems with NUT on Raspberry Pi
Hhm. OK, but it doesn't work. The ups goes offline and starts back immediately. Even if ups.delay.start is set 0. I will try another test circuit after using the upsrw command.

Hi Roger,
it was set by ups.conf. Should I use the upsr-command?

Transparent Redirect to external host
Hello all,
After perusing the documentation, faqs, and mailing list archives, I have
not been able to find a way to do the following. I''m hoping "you" can help.
I want to transparently redirect all outbound SMTP connections to an SMTP
server of *my* choice. This way, regardless of what a user on my network
has set their SMTP server to be within their MUA, I will redirect
