Three new releases
Hi, I'm announcing two new releases of opus, along with the first release of the new libopusenc library. First for opus, we just fixed a bad bug in the surround encoding code that would cause very bad quality on signals beyond a certain amplitude. Thanks to Franziska Trojahn and others from HfT Leipzig for finding this issue through their listening test[1] (the quality of the two bad files in the paper should now be similar to the others). The new 1.1.5 release fixes only that bug, while 1.2beta also includes some ARM Neon optimizations and low bitrate quality tuning. You can download the...

Please send me the replies directly to my e-mail 'k.sundram@blr.sni.de' ; since I find that this list is getting bigger and better.. Polycom registration errors

Picolena, a ferret+rails documents search engine
...icolena would be useful in a lot of companies (as a google-mini alternative), and has already been working in production for a few months without a hitch. This has been made possible thanks to Ferret''s incredible speed. Kudos to the devs! Network time sync and reverse NetBios name lookup
I made a somewhat deep check for time synchronization and I couldn't find what I was looking for. What I need to do is synchronize the clock on a Linux box to the clock on an NT server. I can't use NTP or any other protocol because the NT box doesn't understand it. Any pointers would be great. The second issue is that I need to do (if possible) a reverse NetBios name lookup by

Junk e-mail .... help needed!!!
Hi!! Of late, I'm getting a lot of un-solicited mails from this list, and inspite of un-subscribing mails, messages, threats , nothing really seems to work... My question: 1. Is there any way I can 'avoid' or 'bounce' incoming messages at the mail-server level?? 2. I cannot change my address (alias) as such... since this involves sending reminders to God knows how many

problem with printer
Hi, I've a strange problem with samba 1.9.15pl4 and an Epson LQ2070 printer (not that I think that samba release or printer type are relevant ..). I'm using samba with linux to offer print share to a win3.11 LAN. A little drawing: Win PC <----> File Server <----> Axis print server <----> printer (spool dir) The printer is connected to an Axis printserver

...is installed locally and only the files it works on comes via samba. I have found that the M$ VC compiler will stop on a completely isolated system anyway! This stuff is even capable of trashing the file system on an NT4.0 system. Do not blame samba for a Microsoft problem. --- Peter Blake ppb@hft.co.uk ppb@baloo.tcp.co.uk

How to get nmbd to work?
I have NEVER been able to get nmbd to work in anything even remotely approximating a usable fashion. All I want it to do is DNS lookups. I can't even get it to do that reliably. It looks in some cases like it isn't even sending a response back to the querying clients. When I do a request that fails, I get this: --- nmb packet from 192.55.114.4(3175) header: id=8172 opcode=Query(0)

Configuring printer drivers
Hi, I've been running a samba server for our small group of users (about 15) for approx the last 18 months with great success. We use the server for both file and printer sharing. I had to make some modifications to the printer configuration today, and I've got a quick question which arose from my tinkering. I wanted to configure the server such that each of our printers can be used

Compiling custom "vmlinuz" PXE kernel?
Hello CentOS list, I still need help. Does anyone know how I would go about creating my own "vmlinuz" PXE kernel? I'm still trying to get the NUC6CAYH to load to a LiveCD, and I'm getitng nowhere with Intel. My company wants to do hundreds of these per month; we're not above paying for professional help at this point. My current line of reasoning is to get whatever

Print Share Name Length
Hi all, We (the Samba Team) need some feed back from our user community. Anyone want to help out? All you need to do is post us a one liner. Tell us if you want 8 character length limited print share names or larger. If you really must have longer print share names - then how many characters? Should we limit the length? Background: >From time to time we receive patches to increase the maximum
