Aggregating dataset to means/day
Hi, I have a dataset with many observations some days while only one others. I would like to calculate a mean value per day and then do regression analysis on the means. This is what I have: Year Day Time herring.density 2007 47 10.36 2.2 2007 47 11.50 1.1 2007 47 14.24 1.4 2007 66 9.35 2.5 This is what I want: Year Day herring.density 2007 47 1.57 2007 66 2.25 I would also might like to extract means betwee...

I think it was a red-herring, but I don't know anything about pthread_cleanup_pop. Ciao, Duncan.

...such object: dsdb_search at >> ../source4/dsdb/common/util.c:4705) and from >> /var/lib/samba/private/secrets.tdb: NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO > Problem is (so I have been told) neither secrets.tdb or secrets.ldb > will have been created at this point, so this could be a red herring. Yeah, I think that's a red herring. If we had more log context around the error, you'd probably see the following messages beforehand. >> Adding 1 remote DNS records for <blah-DC> >> Join failed - cleaning up >> Could not find machine account in secrets database:...

[LLVMdev] x86 unwind support[MESSAGE NOT SCANNED]
...nd or is dwarf unwinding doing some extra work (other than a few unecessary register restores), like restoring signals, and calling pthread cleanup routines? In other words does the dwarf unwinder do nothing other than unwind, and was all that stuff about pthread_cleanup_pop() actions just a red-herring? [LLVMdev] RFC: Exception Handling Rewrite
Bill, I believe the empty-exception-specification example is a red- herring, but that if you can construct an example where you think a landing-pad requires multiple filter lists then I think we can then have a productive conversation about it. I believe we can only get multiple filter lists in a landing-pad if we attempt to merge exception-regions, and since filters...

Polycom 501 horrible echo
I have the following situation: Asterisk 1.2.1 25+ Polycom 501 telephones. Bootrom 2.6.2.0032 Application 1.6.2.0041 Some 501's local to my network, some across the great INTERNET divide. JRE 8.1 for CentOS6
> When I put in http it changes it back to https That's common now that everyone puts re-directs in to force everyone to use https. Can you get to the Apache logs on the remote machine? They may have more info. The error about Java 1.8 might be a red-herring. If the remote machine uses Perl on the backend, you might try setting the shell env variable OPENSSL_PREFIX to point on your local CentOS6 box to a newer version of openssl that handles the TLS handshake. The CPAN module Net::SSLeay uses that variable (if set) to use the specified OpenSSL library...

Using gutenbergr with a firewall
...not even a time-out. Has anyone succeeded in using gutenberg_download() successfully with a firewall? I tried raising an issue at https://github.com/ropenscilabs/gutenbergr/issues/17 with no usable response. I also tried contacting the maintainer but got no response. The firewall might be a red-herring, but I thought it worthwhile eliminating it as a factor. I would welcome any information on anyone else's experience. Thank you. -- ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. ___ Patrick Connolly {~._.~} Great minds discuss ideas...

[Qemu-devel] [PATCH v2 00/11] qemu: use virtio linux headers in portable code
...make a lot of sense, does it? It makes perfect sense: you're overthinking it. It just means that copying the BSD headers outside Linux is encouraged. And it's clearly nonsensical to claim the GPL on kernel headers means that userspace needs to be GPL. So please ignore this licensing red-herring. And we'll bikeshed the headers in the standard when we have to :) They certainly don't need to be cut&paste into the kernel sources. Cheers, Rusty.

rspec2 observations
...xpectations/backward_compatibility.rb:6:in `const_missing'' ***************************************************************** I don''t know if this is an issue with RSpec-2 or if Rubinius & JRuby require an update. Or, perhaps the problem is elsewhere and this warning is a red herring. Guidance on this would be welcome; I am happy to open an issue with these other projects if the fault lays there. All in all, it''s looking good! cr

[LLVMdev] x86 unwind support[MESSAGE NOT SCANNED]
Hi Mark, > You are confusing stopping the unwinding at *some* levels or at *all* > levels. > Eg. > invoke > call > call > invoke > call > call > unwind the dwarf unwinder only stops and runs user code at the invokes. It does restore registers and so forth at every stack frame. This is extra work done at unwind time that reduces the cost

DRBD Problem
...64 117220824 hdd 22 65 114688003 hdd1 253 0 117219800 dm-0 253 1 114688003 dm-1 147 0 114556928 drbd0 On the other node the dm-0 and dm-1 do not occur. Being new to Linux, I am not sure where these come from. I have tried google, but nothing makes sense. This maybe a red herring, but dm-1 has the same number of blocks as hdd1 which I am trying to mount so I'm guessing that this is the cause of the problem. As I have tried changing every thing I can except the mb/processor and reinstalling, I'm really stuck. HELP Please. Rob
