Does anybody has a nice solution, ideally with a possible solution in R?
Thanks in advance!

ctc package
...neither from this site nor via CRAN it is possible to install the
package.
Is there any other possibility? Is the package included in any other
package?
Thanks a lot in advance.
With kind regards

CentOS, PHP, Basic GIS
I have no experience with GIS whatsoever. I really know squat about it.
I'm currently working on a project to plot locality data for wildlife on
a map of Shasta County. This is for a new herpetological club that hopes
to track strength of our local herp populations, since it seems evident
that in the last 20 years we lost one species of frog and are close to
losing another (probably less

php and mime type
...I'm hoping to find a way via php, preferably without using exec() or
system(), to reliably identify an ogg vorbis file via php.
Using
$fi = new finfo(FILEINFO_MIME);
$mime_type = $fi->buffer(file_get_contents($upload));
results in 'application/ogg'
My site accepts vouchers for herpetology records, but only image and
audio. I do not wish to support video vouchers, but if an Ogg Theora
file is uploaded, it also produces the mime type 'application/ogg' when
looked at with finfo class.
I need a way to distinguish ogg/vorbis from other types of ogg files,
and it really needs...

Live CD/DVD for encoding?
...copy of Windows nor do I wish to buy a mac
nor do the videos really need any editing other than specifying time
period I want (mplayer does that), so for this occasional use, a live
linux DVD really probably is the best solution.
The purpose is to make short theora clips available on my field
herpetology web site via the html5 video tag (IE clips of Rattlesnakes
buzzing while fleeing to their hide or toads spawning, etc.).
I really would much rather use Ogg/Theora than something proprietary
like DivX or other currently available options.
