mdbtools on CentOS
...downloaded and (eventually!) compiled the latest release from the mdbtools web site, but I either get 'buffer overflow' errors or no output from most of the tools. I have been trying to cvs checkout the latest development version but sourceforge's cvs login keeps timing out. Is anyone hereabouts using mdbtools successfully, or can anyone suggest any other tools that will dump access databases on a scheduled basis? I have done test migrations using the MySQL gui tools and that works fine, but I don't think the operation can be scripted. On a side note, I also need to do the same for...

any help installing 4.4 for s390 (or s390x) on Z9-BC?
I should start off by saying that I know a lot more about linux than I do z/series hardware.... I've tried centos 3.3 and 4.4 for s390 and s390x, if it make any difference.... Trying to install 4.4 on an lpar on a z9-BC and having trouble figuring out how to get the OSA adapter working. I've been told that when I ftp-boot from the iso image, I should choose "eth" for

namespaces and assignment: a problem/question
...e imports? Here I am well out of my depth] Then I could just use 'superfind' followed by 'assign'. Is this a meaningful idea? Could it be implemented simply? (Presumably yes, by just mirroring the way R searches for objects..?) It seems to me as though there might be a logical gap hereabouts with assignment. I've had a bit of a look in the new "A simple implementation of name spaces for R", and it seems that the section on "Sealing" is relevant-- e.g. are values being sealed rather than bindings? But I don't want to inadvertently give any misleading impress...
