Volume Size
Okay, I must be a total Nerf-herder, but I am trying to find info as
to how big a volume samba can actually share - eg if I have a 10TB
volume, can I share it via SMB (assuming everything else is ok)?
Specifically for samba 3.0.10...
No matter what and where I search I can't find a damn thing!
Can anyone here shed some lig...

Log rotation
Hi mongrel-herders,
I''m just wondering what fellow railsers use to rotate their logs in an
orderly fashion? I''d like to do something lightweight, i.e. (1) rename the
logfile (2, optional) create a new empty logfile and (3) send a signal to
each mongrel in the cluster and have them understand it...

Alternitives to Firefox...
...s is
where I am headed.
3. Try to find a browser out of the few remaining others that works.. most
will want you to be running something much more modern than EL6 (and even
EL7 is probably going to be too old for many).
4. Just use browsers as little as possible and decide to live out life as a
yak herder. [OK this is probably where I am really headed]
Sorry I don't have happier answers

Can't move/delete folder "Renaming not supported across conflicting directory permissions"
Dear all,
several users have reported that they were unable to move/delete
folders using Thunderbird and they got the message "Renaming not
supported across conflicting directory permissions". When I google for
this message, I see hints like "your mail may not be all on the same
volume", but here this is definitely not the case. All mail is in
/var/mail/virtual and owned by

how to set the starting value in lme
Hi,
When I fit the mixed-effects model by lme, I got the convergence error code = 1
message = iteration limit reached without convergence (9). Even after I increase the iteration numbers, it still did not work. The only way I found to avoid the error message is to increase the number of iterations for the EM algorithm, which need to be at least 1100. But the weird thing is that the correlation

Lustre 1.0.2 packages available
Greetings--
Packages for Lustre 1.0.2 are now available in the usual place
http://www.clusterfs.com/download.html
This bug-fix release resolves a number of issues, of which a few are
user-visible:
- the default debug level is now a more reasonable production value
- zero-copy TCP is now enabled by default, if your hardware supports it
- you should encounter fewer allocation failures

Alternitives to Firefox...
OK, I recently ugraded to the current ESR release of Firefox for CentOS 6.
And I am having problems with the user interface (basically it has become hard
[for me] to use).
What alternitives are there? (Chrome and Chromium are not possible with
CentOS, and Chrome and Chromium are actually worse).
