lmer refuses nested random factors
...to how to get around this intractable
problem? My crude solution is to go around the obstacle by computing
the mean of each plant pair and using a GLM with poisson distribution
and ignore random effects.

R-beta: t.test
...tart humbly
with a simple t.test.
The response to the command sequence
sample <- scan()

rather surprised me, because of the idiosyncratic
choice of a confidence interval for the mean of the
population from which the sample was drawn. I asked
my colleague Bob Henery about this, and his reply
is appended.
Is there a good reason for choosing this rather
unconventional behaviour for R, or is it just
a blunder as Bob suggests? At any rate Bob's
fix is easy enough for those of us who prefer
our confidence intervals to include the sample
mean, until or if the...

Outgoing trunk is restricted to g.729 but need ulaw
Hi,
I am taking over an asterisk system from another person and having an issue
where a sip trunk is restricting the outgoing codecs to just g.729
I am dialing in from a Cisco 7960. The Invite from the Cisco has the
folowing M line:
m=audio 17022 RTP/AVP 18 0 8 101.
So it is allowing g.729, ulaw and alaw.
Asterisk is tandeming the call out over a SIP trunk
