Xapian support for huge data sets?
Hello,
I?m currently using another open source search engine/indexer and am
having performance issues, which brought me to learn about Xapian. We
have approximately 350 million docs/10TB data that doubles every 3
years. The data mostly consists of Oracle DB records, webpage-ish
files (HTML/XML, etc.) and office-type docs (doc, pdf, etc.). There
are anywhere from 2 to 4 dozen users on the

Redhat Linux 7 on a Win Nt Network
...something loaded to accept the Linux client machine? If I do get the Linux
machine configured for the network, how do I browse the network (where's
Linux version of Network Neighborhood)? If I need to purchase something, I
can probably work that out, we are a state agency : )
Thank you,

update wrong date, soft links, Debian stable, -L, ...
...n't know the special rules for
treating links and whether the -a option effects that still.
I'll have to admitt I haven't searched all 10MB of prev. questions.
Anyway, thanks - I get allot of mileage out of rsync: its a ton better
than writing a shell script using rcp :)

PS
My most desired feature is: If you use
user@host:/directory
notation right on host, rysnc won't grok it
(you gotta use /directory if your executing
on host).
That means scripts must be

bug in promax?
...he loadings after
promax rotation from SAS. The only differences of the above mypromax
function to the original function is that the loadings after varimax
rotation are first normalized (see the line in which x1 is calculated)
before they are used to calculate the target matrix Q in the next
line.
Hendrickson & White (1964), BJSP, 17, 65-70 who originally suggested
PROMAX wrote about the target matrix, p. 66: "Each element of this
matrix [the target matrix Q] is, ..., the kth power of the
corresponding element in the row-column normalized orthogonal matrix."
Although I am not sure what He...

SCRATCH update wrong date, soft links, Debian stable, -L, ...
Hmm,
scratch the issue
I used touch on the file and now it works (even though it shouldn't have
made a difference). In short - maybe its not [purely anyway] rsync
related.
(From last post)
(Though 'newer' and 'stat' had already clearly showed it to be newer,
and though I had saved it to be sure it had a recent date - I tried
touch anyway. Still - newer said it was newer

Hi,
I would like you to seriously consider this. That is: I know
its a feature request but feel it's important.
The --exlude option can't look at link targets. I know it sounds
trivial at first but I think mirroring users need that...

SIP registration timeout
Hi all,
I am using * as a PBX for a Broadvoice VoIP account. It had been working
well since about last November, although not perfectly (similar
disconnection problems, although I am pretty sure it had to do with my
PPPoE setup, but I think these issues were resolved). As of a few weeks
ago, though, I started having serious problems.
Basically, I can start up * and connect to Broadvoice and
