replacing values in a vector
Dear helpRs Does anyone have an elegant way of doing the following: For a given numeric vector, e.g. vec <- c(3,2,6,4,7) Create a series of vectors where all but 1 of the values are replaced by 0's, e.g. vec.a <- c(3,0,0,0,0) vec.b <- c(0,2,0,0,0) vec.c <- c(0,0,6,0,0) vec.d <- c(0,0...

the graph gallery strikes back
Hello useRs and helpRs, Some time ago, in a gallaxy far away (here is the thread : http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/46532.html ) we discussed about a graph gallery showing the power of R in that domain. I did some work around that, and there is a (pretty advanced) draft here : http://addictedtor.free...

Access R Help Content From R
Have UI that simplifies running code from another (internal) package, allowing user to set values on fields I basically grabbed from results of calls to formals() for various functions. That works fine for the most part. But it was requested to investigate some type of popup help or something for each field. Since I already wrote the information in the dot-Rd files for what should be displayed,

Can plot() be used for multiple plots?
Greetings helpRs -- I would like to use plot() to plot two cumulative distribution curves so that a user of the plot can compare the distributions of the two variables. The following code draws two distributions separately, but I cannot find the instruction necessary to add a second cumulative distribution to...

redesign R.css for HTML help pages
Hi, I feel the CSS definitions for the HTML help pages are not visually appealing enough. I admit this is a very subjective matter, so I don't have strong arguments for this wishlist, although I wrote my version of R.css with some web design instructions in mind (e.g. use browser-safe sans-serif fonts). Anyway, here is what I've done:

turning a list of vectors into a data.frame (as rows of the DF)?
As a newer R practicioner, it seems I stump myself weekly (at least) with issues that have spinning my wheels.  Here is yet another... I'm trying to turn a list of numeric vectors (of uneual length) inot a dataframe.  Each vector held in the list represents a row, and there are some rows of unequal length.  I would like NAs as placeholders for "missing" data in the shorter vectors.

Using MathJax in R's help system
Hi, I am doing a small experiment to test if I can use MathJax ( official site: http://www.mathjax.org ) in R's html help pages (i.e. options(help_type='html')) and it seems working with some minor modifications. The screenshot (rendered by Firefox 4.0 beta and with STIX fonts) of the help page in html format with MathJax enabled is at the following url:

ggplot2 0.9.0
...ffect the colour of points. DEVELOPMENT * ggplot2 has moved away from the two (!!) homegrown documentation systems that it previously relied on, and now uses roxygen extensively. The current downside is that this means that ggplot2 website can no longer be updated, but I hope work with the `helpr` package will resolve that shortly. * ggplot2 now uses a `NAMESPACE`, and only exports functions that should be user visible - this should make it play considerably more nicely with other packages in the R ecosystem.
