how to draw manifold?
Hi, I need some help either in how to configure variables for wireframe(), or some suggestions as to other graphics commands to use for plotting a 2-D manifold in 3-D space. Here is an example I tried (in the hopes that it would plot a helical line) : xsp<-matrix(c(cos(seq(0,80)/5)),9,9) ysp<-matrix(c(sin(seq(0,80)/5)),9,9) zsp<-matrix(c((seq(0,80)/20)),9,9) wireframe(zsp~xsp*ysp) The resulting plot looks vaguely like a helix, but not right. And if I change my variables' dimensions to c(3,27) it looks "better,&qu...

strange misflagging of incoming mail as trash
...ssage is marked as trash (suffix ?T?) and is never loaded into the mail client, either in the inbox or in the trash folder. For all intents and purposes, it disappears. Plotting parametrized curves (2D or 3D)
The curve() function plots an expression in x over an interval [from,to]. I am looking for a function that would allow me to plot a parametrized curve t -> x(t) where x is a vector in 2 or 3 dimensions. For example (cos(t), sin(t)) (a2D  circle) or (cos(t), sin(t), t) (a 3D helix). It seems that neither curve(), plot(), nor persp() are helpful for that particular problem. I bet I?m not the

recommneded tape drives
Hi there, I am pricing out a dell 840 (low end file server) that will run latest centos. Can anyone recommend a good tape drive/card combo with centos? The drives (to be backed up) in it will be a raid 0 - 500gb. Thanks in advance! Dustin
