empirical maximum likelihood estimation
...,S,A,I,J,R of the ODE's given the data, but without an explicit formula.
How can I now optimize the loglikelihood with respect to the parameter
n,h,u,q,p,v? Is there any functions available in R for dealing with such
empirical likelihood problems?
Thanks a lot for your support.

Differential Equations
Dear R-community
My ODE problems looks as follows:
(1) dA/dt = u*A - v*B
(2) dB/dt = v*B - u*A
where u is a constant, and v=k*t (k=constant, t=time)
Does anybody knows a good function/procedure of solving? Should one
involve the equation (3) dv/dt = k?
Thanks for your support.

[storage-discuss] high read iops - more memory for arc?
...ing if it made a difference.
I''m trying to understand why we''re seeing getting a lot of read requests to disk when the arc is set to 8GB and we have a 32GB ssd l2arc.
With so much read requests hitting disks it may cause contention with the writes.

DLMFS on OracleVM 2.1 (OEL5.0 based)
Hi List,
I want to use DLMFS of OCFS2 to avoid multiple start of virtual machines
on OracleVM. I want to use a wrapper around xm that spawns a deamon that
keeps a file open in /dlm/DOMAIN. Now I played around a bit and followed
the procedure in the document
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/src/branches/ocfs2-1.2/dlmfs.txt
for DLMFS.
Theres one problem. The "O_NONBLOCK" option is

Pool import with failed ZIL device now possible ?
Hello list,
someone (actually neil perrin (CC)) mentioned in this thread:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/zfs-discuss/2009-December/034340.html
that is should be possible to import a pool with failed log devices
(with or without data loss ?).
