Hi, I am trying to get samba 3.0.7 working with our win2k DC. I installed samba from the ports collection, so the kerberos library looks to be the heimdel version. I can use kinit to create a ticket and it authenticates against the DC just fine. Can anyone point me to a how to or beginners guide to setting up LDAP authentication on CentOS5 with replication?

...er domain OK. However when I look using Windows Explorer on the ADS (Windows 2003) machine it appears as Samba 3.0.8 server under WORKGROUP, and I cannot access the shares. I am using the MIT kerberos. The Howto guide on page 74 is a bit ambiguous. I read it to say that if you are you are using Heimdel it must be a release later than 0.6. A colleague took it to read that you must use Heimdal rather than MIT for Windows 2003. Is this the problem or is it something else. Hi! I have been reading for about two weeks (maybe I'm reading on the wrong places). I have found as many documents as one could expect describind how to build a LDAPv3 server, or how to build samba with ldap. This far, I have failed, and have a BIG confution in the order in wich the things should go: In one document, they recommend this: samba -> ldap -> sasl -> kerberos
