Newbie question about data preparation
...9;d like to add one column with the center of each group with width=2
for an x value in the interval of the class.
So the output should look like
x y x-grouped
1.3 2.2 1
2.5 3.4 3
3.1 3.7 3
8.2 9.5 9
7.5 8.3 7
What would be the R'ish idiom to do this operation?
TIA

additional parameters in function called by tapply
...When I'm trying to skip the spatial aggregation, i.e. just do the block_averaging over years, I have the problem (AFIU the man page), that I can't provide the years vector as parameter to the function block_average via tapply. What would be the R-ish approach to this problem.
TIA

Meta-Analysis using lme
...he intercept is random on both levels and the variable stderr_D (the
sampling variance) is supposed to be random only on level one. Besides, I
need to constrain the variance of stderr_d to equal 1.
Could anybody help me correct the code I provided? Thanks in advance for
your time.
Cheers,
