mpg123 causing Asterisk Freeze?
Hello,
I am currently using MusicOnHold(mpg123), and it works just fine, but every
once in a while I will get a flurry of warnings in the CLI like those below
and Asterisk will freeze completely, and the only way to come out of it is
with a kill -9 . Is mpg123 causing my problem? Is there a specific format of
MP3 that should be used/avoided to not have errors like these? Any help
would be greatly

Performance tips for heavily loaded servers
Does nayone have a collection of performance tips for heavily loaded
samba servers?
I have a server that routinely has 45-90 connections and just runs really
poorly. We've thrown more memory at it w/ some benefit, but not
significant.
This is on a linux 2.0.35 based machine.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

heavily fragmented file system.. How to defrag it on-line??
Hi, all,
I got machines running continuously for long time, but then the underlying ext3 file systems becomes quite heavily fragmented (94% non-contiguous).
We just don't have a chance to shutdown the machines since they are always busy..
I tried the defrag 0.70 version comes with e2fsprog package and standalone 0.73 packages, but neither help me since the defrag tool can not handle ext3.

LMTP crashing heavily for my 2.2.36 installation
follow up question.
Is there a commit which is reasonable to backport for me into the packages
or is it too intrusive or based on heavily changed code?
Thanks,
Wolfgang

Upgrading Heavily Modified RH9 Machines
Hello,
I have several heavily modified RH9 machines (custom kernels, reiser FS, etc.)
Just wondering if CentOS could do an upgrade install on machines such as
this? I know it's always better to do a clean install, but these machines
have been tweaked a lot over the last year and are running perfectly (a lot
of time and effort went into this)... an upgrade install would be great. My

can't CLI> STOP NOW by zombie MOH
I am using CVS-v1-0-04/20/05-12:31:26. Windows Messenger5.1 works MOH
fine. After I stop MOH on Windows Messenger, if the hungup signal could
not send to *, the sip channel(e.g.,SIP/52001-08ca) for this MOH remains.
Then the user trys again MOH, a new sip channel starts. And again
the hugup signal can not send to *,.........
When I 'stop now' from CLI> , * cleanups the remaining sip

Shaping traffic on heavily oversubscribed links?
Hi all,
I am having some fun with traffic shaping, and have run into an
interesting situation. Here is South Africa, most internet links are
heavily oversubscribed, which means that in most cases the local link is
_not_ the bottleneck, and shaping on the local link does not help that
much...
Does anybody have some tips on shaping such links? How can you get
interractive traffic if you

TCP port forwarding troubles?
Has anyone heavily exercised the TCP connection forwarding features in
openssh?
I use this feature quite extensively for secure web surfing. I run
a ssh command like this:
ssh -c blowfish -L3128:127.0.0.1:3128 squidmachine
Then I set up Netscape on my local machine to use 127.0.0.1:3128 as a
proxy server. Needless to say, this exercises the TCP connection
forwarding feature quite heavily. This

Solution to problem : dynamic variable drops with non-empty dirty list
I read some of the previous posts on this forum, which discussed this particular problem. I tried to use the solution that those posts suggested, but I am still having a problem with my dtrace application running on a heavily loaded system. I have the following lines in my D script,
#pragma D option aggsize=8m
#pragma D option bufsize=16m
#pragma D option dynvarsize=16m
#pragma D option aggrate=0

I have missed this detail. Miroslav told me that we have solved
something similar some time ago, see

ERB and Builder template engines shouldn''t be so heavily wired in ActionView::Base
Problem:
1. ERB and Builder template engines are heavily wired in ActionView::Base
2. Should be optional. If we use different engine - why load all their
stuff if not needed?
3. There are template engines which expect files in their own locations
and cache them in their own way. For instance a template engine may
store templates in a database. These engines don''t need any central

iax, trunking, etc.
The majority of sip to pstn gateway providers (vonage, voicepulse, and
others) appear to be setup for a one line only type of set up. Their web
sites seem to be heavily geared for these one line setups.
Anyone willing to comment on what type of pricing plans these providers
offer when using iax2 trunking or other methods with asterisk to send
multiple (and possibly simultaneous) calls through
