New version of UFO - is there a new HOWTO?
I just installed glusterfs-swift 3.3.1 on a couple of Fedora 18 servers.
This is based on swift 1.7.4 and has keystone in the config. I had
experimented with the one based on swift 1.4.8 and tempauth and had some
problems with it. The HOWTO I can find is still for the old one. Is
there an updated one?
I would also need to find some instructions on setting up keystone from
scratch for

HVM vLAPIC timer interrupts intermittently disappearing
...g appliances (running on 64-bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4) to a Xen HVM guest . We''re seeing some very odd behaviour that doesn''t manifest on other platforms.
The guest experiences intermittent lockups of a few seconds- shell sessions become unresponsive, and various software healthchecking in our application triggers, even when the application is basically idle. Our applications is time-critical (it handles networking packets) so these delays are a major problem. There''s no pattern to when these delays happen that we can see.
Some extensive probing of the guest kernel...

Rails Sever Crash
Hi,
My rails app exposes REST SERVICES, when the server is down for any
reason,
server upgrade or a unexpected crash.
The REST requests coming from the clients should be logged/captured so
that we can insert the data after the server is running.
Any idea?

avoid log message when using nagios check
Hello,
I'm using a nagios check to monitor dovecot status, since dovecot v2 I
see those syslog messages on every nagios check:
pop3-login: Aborted login (no auth attempts in 0 secs)
imap-login: Aborted login (no auth attempts in 0 secs)
I tried to avoid those messages sending a logout string:
check_imap -H localhost -e 'OK' -s 'a logout'
check_pop -H localhost -e

Fwd: Maintaining capacity during deploys
We''re using unicornctl restart with the default before/after hook
behavior, which is to reap old Unicorn workers via SIGQUIT after the
new one has finished booting.
Unfortunately, while the new workers are forking and begin processing
requests, we''re still seeing significant spikes in our haproxy request
queue. It seems as if after we restart, the unwarmed workers get
swamped by

Multiple Internet Connection, established connection dropping issues
To begin with I have not applied and am not using the patches provided
by Julian Anastasov.
http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/~julian/
I do not believe at the moment they apply to the problem I am having. If
they are I will go through the process of applying the patch. They
mostly have to due with what happens when a connection dies. At the
moment both of my connections are live, and I am having

Tracking down hangs
...lso seen this affecting the read-only
server which has the ocfs2 partition mounted.
We've been having trouble trying to find out the cause of the issues. but
can reliably reproduce such failures as follows:
On each host, check for cats taking longer than 1 second:
while true; do time cat /srv/healthchecks/smallfile > /dev/null; done 2>&1 | awk '/m[1-9]/ {print strftime(), $_}'
To actually reproduce the failure, we then run a dd on the filestore:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/srv/test/dd-test-`date +%s` bs=1M count=1000 && echo "Syncing" && time sync
At the time t...
