Forming a "Project Leadership Committee"
Xapian is in the process of joining the Software Freedom Conservancy
(https://sfconservancy.org/), but one thing we need to sort out before
we can finalise this is some sort of more formal project leadership
structure.
James Aylett and I have discussed this with Bradley Kuhn from
Conservancy, and we think the most appropriate model currently would be
a small group of at least 3 (to avoid deadlock

Domain Member Server Problem
I have a problem with a Member Server on Samba 3.0.28a running on Ubuntu
Heady. Both systems were recently upgraded using Ubuntu's automated
upgrade. It's also possible I broke a working configuration by accident.
The shares on the Member server are visible on the XP clients and some
users can authenticate properly. At least one user on one XP desktop
cannot. The...

9p host/guest permissions & selinux...?
Hello Folks
It's with some trepidation that I venture on to such a heady newsgroup,
but I'm about ready to throw myself off a bridge after getting this all
set up and apparently working only to be struck down by permissions and
selinux hell (either, or both).
I've followed instructions here:

Plotting observed vs. fitted values
Dear Wiza[R]ds,
I am very grateful to Duncan Murdoch for his assistance with this problem.
His help was invaluable. However, the problem has become a little more
complicated for me. Now, in each plot, I need to plot the observed and
fitted values of a supine and upright posture experiment. Here is what I
have and how far I got.

Any switchers from mod_perl
Good afternoon,
I have been developing in mod_perl for many years, and my livelihood is based on
being productive with it. I''ve spent the past week reading and testing RoR and
it does look good. But before I take the plunge for my next project, I was
hoping to hear from other mod_perl switchers.
One of the main reasons I like mod_perl is code flexibility. I like being able

ruby suitable for financial apps?
hi there,
I am about to embark on a mission critical financial web application,
and was wondering weather ruby on rails is the best fit for this type
of project.
More specifically I am worried about floating point errors. Would it be
more appropriate to use a more statically typed framework (.NET)?
thankyou.
