search for: headerread

Hi, I'm currently at CentOS 5.8 and am applying the latest OS updates available for 5.8. I'm seeing following error: error: bind-libs-9.3.6-20.P1.el5_8.6.x86_64.rpm: headerRead failed: hdr blob(48062): BAD, read returned 515 error: bind-libs-9.3.6-20.P1.el5_8.6.x86_64.rpm cannot be installed Similar error is seen for other rpms as well. ...bout 3 minutes and then gives an error. I think it does the same thing as the wget but wget will keep trying, while rpm gives up. The error from rpm: Retrieving http://pptpclient.sourceforge.net/yum/stable/rhel4/pptp-release-current.noarch.rpm ..five minutes later: error: /var/tmp/rpm-xfer.DYY9e0: headerRead failed: hdr blob(7456): BAD, read returned 3568 error: /var/tmp/rpm-xfer.DYY9e0 cannot be installed I can wget the above as I mentioned before and install it that way. Before I do it, yum works fine. Afterwards, yum exhibits the same behavior of timing out (because it is using the pptp repository)...

I downloaded the iso's for x86_64 (twice, from 2 different mirrors) and none of them check sum. Anyone else having this issue? Tim
