Fwd: Buffer Overrun in ruserpass() in MH and NMH (fwd)
...installed by default in /usr/bin/mh/msgchk (in function checkmail), you would also want to check /usr/lib/mh/msgchk. (You ought to look through the code yourself..I notice quite a few bugs..this program relies heavily on buffers and enviromental variables) This is pretty straight forward. char *hdir, buf[BUFSIZ], *tmp; ^^^^^^^^ not sure the exact value..check the *.h files..for test purposes if you try to overflow this...just use a size of 9999, just to see if it segfaults....

ChangeNotify help wanted
Hi all, I''ve checked in some code to win32-changenotify. Unfortunately, it doesn''t work right. I need some help. I don''t understand what, exactly, I''m supposed to pass to ReadDirectoryChangesW() for the 2nd argument, nor how to read the data back out. There''s also a WCHAR issue that needs to be worked out with regards to the FileName

Some thoughts on win32-changenotify
...couple issues. I can open a directory and call ReadDirectoryChangesW() successfully, but I can''t figure out how to read back out of the buffer (nor am I exactly sure what to pass as a buffer in the first place). Here''s the basic approach. // Get a handle to the directory. hDir = CreateFile( lpPathName, FILE_LIST_DIRECTORY, FILE_SHARE_READ|FILE_SHARE_WRITE|FILE_SHARE_DELETE, NULL, OPEN_EXISTING, FILE_FLAG_BACKUP_SEMANTICS, NULL ); if(hDir == INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE) { rb_raise(cChangeNotifyError,ErrorDescription(GetLastErr...

Supporting ~10K users on ZFS
OK, I know that there''s been some discussion on this before, but I''m not sure that any specific advice came out of it. What would the advice be for supporting a largish number of users (10,000 say) on a system that supports ZFS? We currently use vxfs and assign a user quota, and backups are done via Legato Networker. >From what little I currently understand, the general

How to install programs in wine?
I am a rank newbie to Linux and wine. I am running Ubuntu Dapper on an AMD 1800 mhz machine, wine 0.9.15 Everything I have read says use the installer to load windows programs. Where is the installer? Thanks, -- Ron Thompson On the Beautiful Florida Space Coast, right beside the Kennedy Space Center, USA http://www.plansandprojects.com My hobby pages are here:
