32E (64bit) VMX keyboard is out of control, if given an addition ''hde''
Hi, This issue only happens on my IA32E VMX domain. IA32 VMX domain is okay. I am trying VBD disk in IA32E VMX domain. I used following disk configuration to create an IA32E VMX domain. disk = [ ''file:/mnt/disk1.img,hda,w'', ''file:/mnt/disk2.img,hde,w'' ] After creating VMX, its keyboard can not be used properly. For example, if pressing ''Backspace'', it shows ''m''; if pressing ''Enter'', it just said Unknown key pressed. If I didn''t set ''hde'', or just chang...

recover data from linear raid
Hello, I had a scientific linux 3.0.4 system (rhel compatible), with 3 ide disks, one for / and two others in linear raid (250 gb and 300 gb each). This system was obsoleted so i move the raid disks to a new scientific linux 3.0.7 installation. However, the raid array was not detected ( I put the disks on the same channels and same master/lsave setup as in the previous setup). In fact

Drive recovery?
I have a CentOS 5.6 system (recently installed) that, for some reason, has decided to mangle one of its drives, specifically /dev/hde1 ... No errors anywhere, just rebooted the machine over the weekend and it's gone. Up till the reboot, the drive was fine, I was writing to it without a problem. fdisk tells me: ---------- # fdisk -l /dev/hde Disk /dev/hde: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes 240 heads, 63 sectors/track,...

In this server I use hde as the harddisk and boot partition is hde1 and root partition at hde10 , is this the problem for Xen ? How HVM domain distingush ioemu disk and VBD disk
...om disk config in /etc/xen/xmexample.hvm. Now HVM VBD driver is available, this thus raises a question: how would HVM domain know if one disk is a qemu-dm disk or a VBD disk? From current implementation, qemu-dm will recognize disk had, hdb, hdc, hdd, and VBD drive can recognize all disk (had~hdd, hde, hdf ...) . So the result is: qemu-dm will mount /dev/hda-hdd, and VBD driver will mount the rest (/dev/hde,...). Actually, VBD will also try to mount /dev/hda..., but failed with error message "register_blkdev: cannot get major 3 for ide", since the /hda is already mounted as qemu-dm dis...

Standard location for hotplug-time hdparm invocation
I need to disable the spin-down on an external USB drive because it spins down spontaneously while in use. The drive forgets the spindown-disable state across power outage so I need to reissue the hdparm command with each boot or hotplug. Where should I put the hdparm command to do this?
