Hi,
One of my shared volumes crashed the other day on a RH-7.2, 2.4.9-31 system.
These are the first errors in the log:

Undelete some files?
Hi,
my / is located on /dev/hda6 and my "personal storage partition" - the palce
where I store my important files - is located on /dev/hda9.
I've deleted a couple of files in /dev/hda9/xyz/abc. Exactly I've deleted
the whole directory "abc" with mc.
Now hda9 is unmounted, of course. Can you give me a recipe about how to
recover those files, please!
Probably messages like mine are already posted. I'm sorry...

is my initramdisk right? also getting ''Error opening /dev/console'' error

kernel /boot/xen- 3.0.gz console=vga
module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6-xen0 root=LABEL=/ ro console=tty0

For domU, my xm file contains:
kernel = "/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.12.6-xenU "
My root is an ext3 file system on /dev/hda9
I am not sure about the ramdisk. I created a ramdisk by first doing the
depmod and then using the mkinitrd command as given in the README file. I
use that initramdisk for dom0. Should I use another ramdisk for domU?

R-beta: 0.62.1 make error on Linux
I get an error trying to make R 0.62.1 on Linux (2.0.30 kernel upgraged
from RH 4.1). I think I saw this mentioned before but haven't been able
find it. Does anyone know the fix?

fstab multiple line entries?
I'm trying to add a long list of mount options in my fstab,

Taking this as an example:

# This doesn't work

Using rsync to syncronize two unmounted disk partitions
...ing rsync for quite some time, and I've realized it is a
fantastic tool. As it is able to syncronize two CD images, I was
wondering, if I could do that with a harddisk partition. Would it be
possible to syncronize two partitions at device level somehow?
I mean using:
# rsync /dev/hda8 /dev/hda9
skipping non-regular file "hda8"
where /dev/hda8 and /dev/hda9 are two unmounted and identical size
partitions on harddisk:
hda8 Logical Linux ext3 [/] 501.75
hda9 Logical Linux 501.75
PD. Sorry, I have just seen that...

syslinux 6.03 bug related to rev shadow and scroll bar with vshift
I thought I've found three bugs on syslinux 6.03:
(1) With sample config file as is, i.e. leaving commented MENU VSHIFT
and MENU COLOR UNSEL but uncommented MENU COLOR SEL:
A black "border" is displayed below the selected line and on its right edge.
(2) Uncommenting MENU COLOR UNSEL:
This effect appears also on separators and on right edge on every
unselected lines.

e2fsck dies with signal 11
Hi
I got a strange error, happening on two of my ext3 partitions.
What can be wrong? And why does e2fsck error out, instead of displaying
an error message?
Best regards
