How to add a migration with a plugin?
...t requires some database support to do its job (adding a model or two). I''d like the plugin to automatically add a migration once it is installed. Is there already a mechanism for this? ActiveRecord retrieval style? Lazy initialtization?
...e the ActiveRecord API for each individual record.... Using the low level API to get the list of IDs and then ActiveRecord to retrieve just the record for that ID. Memory leak with the pre-release?
Hello, I''m just wondering if there could possibly be a memory leak with the latest pre-release? When I run it, the processes keep increasing in memory size and easily pass 200MB and eventually crash due to a lack of memory. Is anybody else having this problem? Thanks, -carl PS, Zed, I sent you two emails directly to your address with logs and other stuff. Let me know if you

service::start borken
Hello Mongrel Users! This is my first post! Is there an expected release date for the fixed version of mongrel_service that will resolve the missing service::start command? I would love to use the much improved features of the new mongrel_service, but I haven''t been able to yet. I haven''t figured out how to follow Zed''s advice on a previous thread to just use the start command to start the service. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a mongrel service started using the most recent release of mongrel_service? Thanks!...

zfs root eta?
Hi, I was just wondering if ZFS root is likely to be an install option any time soon, either in SXCR or the June Solaris update? The mechanism at Tabriz''s blog seem to work well, but it''d be nice to get it out of the box. -- Rasputin :: Jack of All Trades - Master of Nuns http://number9.hellooperator.net/

marker.closeBubble()
Any reason why there''s no closeBubble function in Mapstraction? It''s supported by at least Yahoo (closeSmartWindow) and Google (closeInfoWindow). A related issue, but not as clear-cut: a bubble closed event. I know Google supports this, but I haven''t investigated further. --Adam

Controller Inheritance
Is there any known problem in inheriting a Controller from another controller (that is to say having an Admin::PostController < PostController, with PostController < ApplicationController)? It is something I haven''t seen done in tutorials or books, however in my opinion (and as far as I can see from my tests) it should work.

MockCov: Proof of concept
...eview_drop.rb.html (please forgive the small size of this sample, my employer understandably didn''t want me showing too much of our code) You''ll notice that there isn''t any kind of statistical coverage summary, I''m not sure how to quantity the results and indeed haven''t spent any time thinking about it; that can come later. For now I''d just like to gauge the response to this. I haven''t packaged the code up yet, it''s a horrible hack and needs to be reworked from scratch; I need to talk with someone on how best to integrate it...

Ferret Wiki Spam - Solutions Anyone?
Hi All, As some of you may have noticed, the Ferret Wiki has been getting spammed like crazy. And I haven''t been able to do anything about it because I just don''t have the time. I''m getting pretty close to releasing 0.10.0 which has been the major draw on my time for the last couple of months so I''m going to have some time to look into this soon. I was wondering if a...

NoMethodError in User sessionsController#new

I tried setting the current_user method in Application_controller to protected and not private, on the recommendation in Stack Overflow. Diff tool for OSX
I''ve looked for DIFF tools for OSX but haven''t found anything good yet. Tried guiffy (http://www.guiffy.com) but it''s very slow and the folder comparison doesn''t indicate a change until you drill down to the level with the difference which kinda defeats the purpose. I''m missing TortoiseSVN and the diff too...

Adding fields to a form
Is there a decent way to add a field to a form before posting it? I haven''t tried using HPricot manipulations just yet, since I can''t ever find really solid docs on hpricot.... Form#[]= doesn''t work because it first searches only pre-existing fields. I''m investigating how to write a patch now. But I thought maybe someone here m...

Webservices Xml-Rpc and authentication
Hello, I want to build an application where i have client and server. I need to exacute commands with XM-RPC. I can get all this working, following the howto''s in wiki and main website. But the problem is they are all unsecure. I can''t seem to find any web service examples where they use authentication, or ssl. Just wondering if anyone know how i go about doing this. At the

Puppetrun as normal user
What is required to allow running puppetrun as a normal user? The documentation implies that puppetrun has to be run as root to get access to the SSL certificates. What permissions need to be set to allow normal users (or a group of users) to perform puppetrun? Is it possible to create a more-public certificate that can only be used for puppetrun? We could use the ability to have developers

[PATCH] stack overflow during pv-guest restore
...terrupt handling at just the right point, before the switch to the interrupt stack is made... and... the scale tips... Simple fix: malloc & free structure as needed. Would fail save/restore testing of an i386-guest running a parallel, kernel make after 50->100 save/restores; with the fix, haven''t seen it fail after 650 save/restores. Note: this is a basic port of this function in Jeremy Fitzharinge''s Xen implementation of pv-ops in upstream Linux, part of 15/32 patch, Xen SMP guest support. Original patch done on rhel5; did a simple diff & merge to xen-unsta...

tagged 0.0.37; release plans
Hi I just tagged 0.0.37 in Subversion. I also added a note on the Wiki on how to do this, and how to checkout a clean version: http://wxruby.rubyforge.org/wiki/wiki.pl?Release_HowTo For the build, I''m just about to upload a tarball, and will add a powerpc gem once the compiler''s chugged away. Please upload for your platform as you''re ready. I suggest we announce
