openssh 3.8.1p1 problem on SCO 5.0.7
...nnected via ssh will
have two identical login and logout entries.
On SCO, login_write() in loginrec.c calls both wtmp_write_entry() and
wtmpx_write_entry() (USE_WTMP and USE_WTMPX are defined).
wtmp_write_entry() writes the first entry to /etc/wtmp.
wtmpx_write_entry() ultimately calls updwtmpx() (HAVE_UPDWTMPX is
defined) to write the /etc/wtmpx entry. But updwtmpx() writes entries
to both the wtmp and wtmpx files on SCO, so now we have two entries in
/etc/wtmp and one in /etc/wtmpx. I'm guessing updwtmpx() then
synchronizes wtmpx with wtmp, since a second entry ends up in wtmpx as
well. I think t...

Solaris utmp problems
Could all those who were having problems with utmp logging on Solaris
please try the test release at:
http://violet.ibs.com.au/openssh/files/test/openssh-TEST-2000053100.tar.gz
Users on other platforms, particularly HP/UX, AIX and SCO are invited
as well, to test compatibility.
The login code is heaps cleaner now.

Solaris username character limit issues.
Hello,
I've compiled Samba 3.0.4 with Heimdal 0.6.2 and all of the other
trimmings to join and ADS tree, which I have successfully done. Winbind
correctly pulls all of the username and group information from the ADS
tree and all is good.
However...
I seem to be running into a wall with the wonderful Solaris 8 character
username / groupname limit. Usernames with spaces or names longer than

get_ea_dos_attribute: Cannot get attribute from EA on file .: Error = No data available
Samba 4.12.1, single server with AD+DC on Ubuntu 18.04. Filesystem:
/dev/sdb1 on /home type ext4 (rw,relatime,stripe=32750,data=ordered)
It all work as expected, but I occasionally get the error in subject which denies access to shares. Restarting Samba will restore functionality.
What can be the cause of this problem?
Thanks.

ldapsam:trusted = yes kills smbd
Hi,
we want to use ldapsam:trusted=yes to improve performace as nss_ldap

once i enable it smbd dies silently...
