Just wondering if there is a way I can get rsync to recognise that a non-gzipped file in one directory tree is equivalent to the same gzipped file in the (say backup) tree, or vice versa. I'm having troubles with getting rsync 2.5.5 (CYGWIN version) to include/exclude files they way I expect it to. Well I think I've found out what the problem was here, but don't understand why. Something to do with include/exclude pattern though (surprise, surprise). As I see it.... Basically all these commands should (and tested, do) transfer the same files, only everything under /root/tmp/test plus these directories. (1) rsync -avvR --delete --delete-excluded --include "/root/"
