modified wondershaper script causes hardlock in server
Hi, I''ve modified my copy of the wondershaper script to add a few filters that allow traffic to and from a few specific ips go through with a speed of up to 100Mbits... I increased the root from 10 to 100mbit, and added this bit of code a bit further down the script; # Real time hosts for i in 62.101.244.63/32 216.74.158.11/32 216.74.158.3/32 216.74.158.57/32; do tc filter add dev

Silent smbfs hardlock
Hi, Tonight I managed to sliently hardlock my linux box with windows. I had mounted (some hours before) a rw smb share from a win95 machine via: smbmount \\\\hemlock\\c somepass -c 'mount /mnt/samba/hemlock/c/' Some hours later I went to shutdown the windows machine (for the night) in the middle of lwn and returned to my linux machine a minute later to finish off reading lwn, and found

WineOSS hardlock with a Yamaha YMF-744 sound card
When I try to use the wineoss.drv sound driver, Wine hangs up my whole system (as described by me in Wine Bug #2579). From what I have learned, this is caused by a kernel bug, but I can't fix it as I only found Andreas Mohr's patch for SB16-compatible cards (http://lkml.org/lkml/2002/6/16/45), while I'm using a Yamaha sound card (ymfpci.c kernel driver). When I disable the sound in the

I had some error codes in the installation process which I unfortunately did not write down. I Can try and re-install and keep those. It did finish the install though. I've posted below the output I receive when

BioExplorer in Wine with HASP
BioExplorer is a program for biofeedback. It comes with a USB dongle which must be plugged in for the program to start. The program automatically tries to install the drivers for Windows, but that doesn't work in Wine: The message "Cannot open HASP driver" appears when trying to run BioExplorer. I have installed the (completely up-to-date) run-time system including driver from

[non glx_ftp method support in compiz]
I'm currently using r300_dri driver (R9600 card). Compiz use glx_ftp and AIGLX(7.2RC2) unstable with it, it's result in system hardlock very often. Just trued veryl with --use-copy option, and it's very stable for me now. So nonftp method support in compiz would be very desirable. Good luck.

system unresponsive
Ok, we used to get this occasionally on cluster nodes, and we just got it on a fileserver (very bad). The system is discovered to be unresponsive: it doesn't ping, and plugging a console in, you can see that it's not dead, but there nothing at all on the screen, nor does it respond to even <ctrl-alt-del>. The only answer is to power cycle it; it comes up fine. Nothing in

Hard-Locks and graphics card driver issues
Hello, This is my first post on this list. I am experiencing very often hard-locks while using different wine versions (from wine 0.9.58 until 1.0-rc3). My OS is Fedora 9 x86_64 and I also compiled 1.0-rc3 how the wine wiki told me to do. I am also experiencing hard-locks just by using winetricks. The hard-locks appear not immediately but sporadically. But that's a kernel issue I guess,

Cad/Cam Package problem
Hi All, I have just moved over to PCLINUXOS2007 from Windows XP and have found it to be a great Distro. The only software I'm keeping Windows XP for is a high end Cad/Cam Package called AlphacamV2004 from Licom Systems which I use for work and home. I've installed Alphacam with Wine version 0.9.58 and the Advanced Lathe module seems to work fine with no bugs so far, the Advanced Mill 3axis

recovery notice on every reboot, errors writing to fs
excuse the newbie nature of the post, we recently inherited a linux server which has ext3 on it and we have encountered problems before being afforded the opportunity to properly educate ourselves... We had a situation where the server froze and required a hard restart. On reboot we get the following notices which were captured in the dmesg log EXT3-fs: INFO: recovery required on readonly
