Quota problem (soft=hardlimit?)
Hello all,
after upgrading from 2.2.3a to 2.2.5 we experience strange quota behaviour.
When logging out from Windows 2000 and writing the user profiles back to the
server the user gets a "disk full" warning - below soft and hardlimit.
Tests showed that the warning comes up when
Userfiles + (2 * Profiles) > soft limit.
In all our tests, the grace period and the hardlimit were never reached and
are not the limiting factors.
I read about Windows 2000 duplicating the profiles before writing back
to the server, therefore (2...

quota fs: Support for hardlimit quotas (where softquota is unset)
Hi,
included is patch which adds support for calculating fs quota from hardlimit where softlimit is unset. I'm usually not setting softlimit on my server causing dovecot work incorrectly (not reporting quota at all).
Regards,
Jan Friesse

Suggestions/Pointers on where to begin my search for a solution?
Hi-
I''m working in the IT department of a small liberal arts university-- we''re
getting *massacred* by P2P traffic.
Informal testing/probing indicates that about 60% of our traffic from the
dorms was P2P-- we''ve taken the initial step of hardlimiting the dorms to no
more than 40% of outgoing university bandwidth. Also, we''ve blocked the
''standard'' ports for KaZaa, Gnutella, etc. in our firewall/switch setup
(Cisco Catalyst 6500 between us and the net at large)....
However, the Powers That Be want a better, more e...

Samba + Share Quota's
...tal of 120 GB free space, but /test used 20 GB and /software 60 GB)
Is it possible to configure the free space size with smbcquota's?
I tried this but I couldn't configure it because I dont know the values of soft/hard limit. (smbcquotas //fileserver/test -S FSQLIM:<softlimit>/<hardlimit>)
Is smbcquota's the right program or is there a different solution?
Thank you very much

Automatic routine - help
Hi,
I would like to write a little automatic routine in R, but i am a too
much of a beginner for that. I will appreciate any help regarding this
particular problem.
Let?s suppose I have a data.frame with j columns (from 1 to n) and i
rows (from 1 to p). I would like to write a procedure which reads
every column j (j from 1 to n) and compare each value with the
interval [0,1]. If z(i,j) is

windows-clients only recognize softlimit
...e with Windows-XP as with Windows-7 clients.
Here's what I already tried:
Login at a Windows-Client and reach the softlimit of the share, when limit is reached Windows denies to write because partition seems to be full.
SSH-Login as domain-user at the samba-server, exceed the softlimit until hardlimit takes effect - okay.
As root at linux-system mount a home-share with the appropriate user-credentials a cifs/sbm-share, exceed the softlimit until hardlimit takes effect - okay.
Enforce the smb-protocol 2 with "min protocol = smb2, max protocol = smb2" - Has no effect to the quota-behav...

Limiting Bandwidth of an ppp interfaces
...rd rules, who is allowed to use which kind of
bandwidth. but some users used their 1024kbit login data with an 3096kbit
dsl line and of course they got the whole 3mbit bandwidth for
downloads/uploads.
So i MUST limit the users to a hard limit of bandwidth. no fair dealing or
something else. just a hardlimit for bandwidth. User X (pppX) get''s 1024kbit
of bandwidth. no more nor less.
Another problem is, that behind an ppp interface there are some /29 net of
ip-adresses. So i am not able to filter by ip address. i have to filter by
interface.
but i just don''t know how to deal with the...

call-limit on a per destination basis
Hello,
I use asterisk to to IAX2 trunking between London POP & Reunion Island pop.
I would like to know if it's possible to do a kind of call-limit (i.e.
restrict to XX) channels but on a per dialcode and / or destination basis.
For example:
[trunk]
; reunion proper, i want to send no more than 24 channels
exten => _0262XXXXXX,1,Dial(IAX2/mytrunk/${EXTEN})
; reunion mobile, i want

samba quotas
Hi guys, we need to update our samba service from 2.2.8a to samba 3.0.x
(so that we
can upgrade our AD from Win2k to Win2k3). The problem I am having is
with the quotas.
We mount user home directories NFS and then export them to Windows users
via samba.
In 2.2.8a I was able to get quotas working. However with samba 3.0.x, I
cannot.
I compiled --with-quotas.
Now when a user uses a 3.0

ntpd under Xen Dom0 exhibits extremely high jitter/noise? runs stable/quiet under non-xen kernel.
On a selection of boxes, ntpd running in Xen Dom0 reproducibly
exhibits extermely high noise/jitter.
Switching back to -default, non-xen kernel ntpd runs with very low jitter/noise.
Question -- how can I ''tame'' ntpd noise & jitter when running in Dom0?
Is the problem a config issue, or a bug?
Already reported this downstream; everybody''s "stumped".
