ftable.formula
...to ftable would produce the same results: data(UCBAdmissions) ftable(UCBAdmissions, row.vars = "Dept", col.vars = c("Gender", "Admit")) ftable(UCBAdmissions, Gender + Admit ~ Dept) Is this a bug or the intended behavior? I prefer the formula interface, so I would be happiest if the output was the same for the two calls. However, if this is the intended behavior, then I think that the documentation should be clearer on this point. FWIW: platform x86_64-pc-linux-gnu arch x86_64 os linux-gnu...

Migrating to rails... best way to redirect old urls?
Hey all - I''m migrating an app from PHP to Rails and was wondering what the best way to redirect the old urls are. I would like to do a 301 as I''m told that makes Google the happiest. We''re using lighty as the server and I believe it has rewrite capabilities, but I can''t get to their site right now. Anyway, I''m wondering if it''s best handled in lighty? Or by adding a bunch of routes, or by having a handler catch what would be 404'...

Options for custom CCState, CCAssignFn, and GlobalISel
...rather than EVT could always make do with an EVT instead. [Input welcome!]. * Do any out-of-tree backends have custom calling convention code that requires more information than original arg type and whether the argument is fixed or not? In the RISC-V calling convention implementation I'd be happiest if the calling convention function had access to SubtargetInfo and the DataLayout, but can probably do without. Does anyone have views on this, or insight into planned future developments of calling convention handling in GlobalISel? Thanks, Alex

Using NFS - which OS would you chose
Hi, I'm still looking at a large (under 100,000) user deployment of Dovecot, with a NetApp NFS server as the back-end storage. I've read a few remarks about needing the latest NFS patches from Trond Myklebust to prevent lock-ups. My management would be happiest with a vendor-supported distribution (and especially Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9 or 10). We will be running on an x86 platform. Under these circumstances, which operating system/distribution would you choose? And why? Suse SLES9 OpenSuse Debian RedHat FreeBSD Solaris_x86 Nexenta (www.nexent...

Disabling a gamepad
...issue with the left thumbstick mapping. I have tried with multiple PS3 controllers and can confirm it's not a hardware issue). Anyway, the going left thing is really awful and makes games that require a gamepad almost unplayable. If I could fix the constantly going left thing I would be the happiest of campers, but I've resigned myself to just mapping keyboard inputs using QJoyPad and hoping for the best in games where analog support is required. However, it seems that in some games (Trackmania Nations Forever) mapping keyboard input results in both wine using the controller to constantl...

progress! (just good news...no problems this post)!
...ght bulbs turning on). I now have windows ACLS/permissions working on my samba shares and they are being automatically stored in the XFS xattrs. (I checked that they are being added on the server with the xattr cmd). Yippie! (yeah, big whoop to you ol' timers, but...baby steps). This was my happiest accomplishment! Other smaller steps: Converted to tdbsam (from smbpasswd) (at least until I get ldap working). and have domain users/groups working (again! -- they were working a few years ago, but during some upgrade, they stopped. Any wonder why I tremble at server upgrades?) Even am trying o...

Are there any news regarding this Bug: mail-cache-transaction.c: line 709 (mail_cache_add): assertion failed: (fixed_size == (unsigned int)-1 || fixed_size == data_size)? I read that access to an 64bit-machine could help you. Feel free to contact me. Greetings from germany, Daniel -- GMX DSL-Flatrate 0,- Euro* - ?berall, wo DSL verf?gbar ist! NEU: Jetzt

How to get started (Windows)
I've been able to get the latest Windows port installed on my Hyper-V 2012 R2 instance and start the service. But as I'm an absolute beginner I'm not sure how to proceed further. I've browsed the archives, but discussions here tend to assume at least an intermediate level of understanding; thus it's still quite a bit over my head. Your patience and slow explanations are

Windows new installation - Always problems
I would like to know if there is a way to ''package'' an application with all the associated gems and ship it to a new server and having it to "just work" in a Windows environment. Although I have never done it I know that Rails can be frozen into the application. I am wondering if I can do the same thing with other gems. I have found this

...down. Once the UPS unit is itself shutdown, it will react to a return of wall power by applying power supply to the server, and the server will, if the BIOS is set up correctly, power up, and resume duty. The use of the term "shutdown" for both the server and the UPS unit is not the happiest choice, but we live with it. > 4. What?s next? I?d like to configure things to run a simple batch file after [x] minutes of on-battery time. There are two schools of thought for managing wall power loss. Optimist: Keep going as long as possible on battery and turn off the server when the l...

ActiveRecord Migrations, without autonumbered PK''s
I love using ActiveRecord Migrations to build tables. Sometimes, I don''t want to use autogenerated PK''s - I want to set them automatically (why? I''m importing read only data from a large list of medications, and want to use the PK''s assigned by the medication research company...). Is there anyway to do this using Migrations? I know that I don''t
