[LLVMdev] [RFC] Removing BBVectorize?
...calls, for example, is broken: PR20600). In short, while BBVectorize was useful when it was added, it is unclear to me whether or not its continuing presence outweighs the ongoing maintenance costs and resulting user confusion (I still occasionally see users turning it on when they likely would be happier with the SLP vectorizer instead). So, if you're using it and would like it to stay, please speak up! Also, BBVectorize has an API. Is anyone using it? Thanks again (and happy Thanksgiving), Hal -- Hal Finkel Assistant Computational Scientist Leadership Computing Facility Argonne National La...

Remote SIP client HACK JOB
I couldn't be happier with the simplicity of this - but it's a hack! Hi all, I'm currently using a SIP client (BT101) to connect via DSL to a remote instance of Asterisk. - Asterisk has a private IP behind my OFFICE router. - The SIP client has a private IP behind my HOME router. I'm doing this _witho...

Thanks for all the help and advice
I went with CentOS today and I couldn't be happier. I'm definitely excited to be part of this community. Now I just have to remember (after years of using the default SuSE install of Java/Ant/Tomcat/Eclipse, etc.) where the best place to put my Java apps is. Preston

python scripting samba
Can someone point me to some documentation on scripting samba user and group management from python? I'd much rather not do this via calls out to samba-tool, and if I could do this remotely (via LDAP like calls) I'd be even happier. Cheers, Geoff

Semi-OT: Backing up maildir
We switched our mail server over from mbox to maildir a few months ago and couldn't be happier - the performance under normal load is incredible. However we now have a problem with backup.. Typically we would run tar on the mail server, sending its output to another server via ssh.. Like this: tar cfp - /home | gzip | ssh other.server (cd /backups && tar xfp -).. I have tried gzip...

[LLVMdev] New .ll parser
I just checked in a new parser for .ll files, deleting the old bison parser. This means that the last of the ".cvs" files are gone from the tree, which will hopefully make the world a happier place for windows users in particular. I tested it thoroughly but expect minor fallout, if you notice any problems, please let me know. http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvm-commits/Week-of-Mon-20081229/071618.html -Chris -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scr...

[RFC] Python 2 / Python 3 status
...Python 3, if the distributions haven't migrated. Some scripts has dome `#!/usr/bin/env python` -> `#!/usr/bin/env python3` but some have not. If we can update the rest, it may be easier for our overall migration. I also recall Reid said `#!/usr/bin/env python` might make Windows developers happier but I forget the details. >_______________________________________________ >LLVM Developers mailing list >llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org >https://lists.llvm.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/llvm-dev

Custom type
Hi. I have a small problem with the custom type I am working on. I define method ''evaluate'' which is called after all data is been collected. Here it is: module Puppet newtype(:test) do newparam(:name) do end newparam(:listen) do defaultto "silent" end def evaluate puts "evaluating..." return super.evaluate end

Cacti/snmp question
...U core use on a handful of systems. Or is there a better tool than Cacti (or better documented - hopefully in the form of simple recipe rather than many haphazard - often out-of-date - pages of RTFM)? Cacti admits to serious security flaws, not that this'll go on the public net, but I'd be happier to run something safer nontheless. Thanks, Whit

Keeping idmap in sync cross DC
Hi Guys, I have run into a very interesting problem using GPO's on our DC's. As you may (or may not) know, we have migrated to a pure Samba4 (Git stable branch checkout) AD network. I can't be happier. *Kudos to the Samba team* We are running to DC's, DC1 and DC2, both full fledged DC's, both running CentOS 6.9, fully up to date. For the sysvol partition I decided to run a glusterfs between the DC's. I started out with a unison sync, but being the impatient person I am, I needed mo...

Anything special needed to migrate test::unit tests from Rails 2x to Rails3?
Looks like I''ve gotten my app upgraded successfully, at least in the browser. When I ''rake test'' I get no love. I know I can start digging through the Rails rake tasks, first want to see if anyone has an idea what is going on: DKMac:creditcompare3 DK$ rake test (in /Users/DK/Documents/ror/projects/creditcompare3) DKMac:creditcompare3 DK$ (requesting verbose fares just

To upgrade or not
My laptop is a Thinkpad T20 running CentOS 5.1 The reason it is running CentOS at all is because Fedora Core 6 was workable on it, but Fedora 8 was a complete dog. Anyway - with all the new desktop stuff in CentOS 5.2 I'm wondering if I would be happier just leaving it at 5.1 rather than letting it update to 5.2. Will 5.1 continue to get security fixes if I leave it at 5.1 or do I need to update to 5.2 to get the patches? I'm planning to replace it at some point, just haven't seen T40s on eBay drop to my price range yet.

[LLVMdev] Heads-up: changing the structure of compiler-rt source tree
..., it makes more sense for the [language agnostic] unwinder to be in compiler-rt than libcxxabi -- but IMO it makes even more sense for it to be distinct. The bundling of the unwinder with libgcc_s gave us (i.e. 3rd party folks, outside the vendor's organisation) nothing but headaches. Much happier to see it in libunwind.xxx Iain On 12 Feb 2014, at 12:56, David Chisnall wrote: > Are you going to move the unwind library there as part of the reorganisation? > > David > > On 11 Feb 2014, at 09:59, Alexey Samsonov <samsonov at google.com> wrote: > >> Hi all, &...

[PATCH 1/7] Revert "ACPI / OSI: Add OEM _OSI string to enable dGPU direct output"
...es, I am personally annoyed by the fact, that people know about issues, but instead of contacting the proper persons and working on a proper fix, we end up with stupid firmware level workarounds. I can't see why we ever would have wanted such workarounds in the first place. And I would be much happier if the next time something like that comes up, that the drm mailing list will be contacted as well or somebody involved. We could have also just disable the feature inside the driver (and probably we should have done that a long time ago, so that is essentially our fault, but still....) > I...
