Handsfree Speakerphone
Hi,
What is out there in terms of SIP enabled handsfree speakerphones?
Looking for something that works well and also fits a low budget.
I am used to using a Cisco 7940. It is a great phone but a bit expensive.
Thought about the Polycom SoundPoint 300 until I realized that it does not
include speakerphone functionality.
Thanks,
Adi

Handsfree Agent not registered
...one hooked

S). It was relatively simple getting it set up for A2DP, and I was
able to play music that is on my phone through my desktop''s speakers
(using PulseAudio loopback). But when I try to tell PulseAudio to use
the Handsfree profile instead (so that this would work for phone calls
too) I get an error. Checking the syslog shows that, when the phone
connects to the computer, bluetoothd issues the message "Handsfree
Agent not registered". I skimmed the source code that generates this
error and, not having any cl...

Hi,
I am not having trouble with the bluetooth stack since the Toshiba stack
has the headset profile which supports a subset of AT commands

Hi,
Are you able to answer calls by pressing the answer/hangup button on
your headset or are you using the computer to answer the calls with a
SIP phone. I can get the head set to work fine with the PC and sip
phones what I cannot do is get the answer/hangup button on the...

Hi,
This is interesting you used the ctp profile. Did you document how you
changed it?
Thanks

Two DTMF tones on keypress with Handsfree cell
Hello, I am using Asterisk SVN, a cellular phone, and chan_mobile to
run a small home PBX with two analog telephones connected to a Linksys
ATA using SIP. It works great (except for some Bluetooth adapter bugs
that I am still trying to beat...seems the misaligned audio detection
still needs work), but I have encountered an interesting issue.
If I am using an automated system that accepts input

Is this echo problem down to IP Phone hardware?
Hello
I have a Grandstream GXP2000 with latest firmware. When I use it holding the handpiece I don't hear any echo - neither does other end. However, if I use it handsfree, the other end notices echo when they speak - ie their voice is echoy. I hear their voice being a bit echoy.
Is this purely down to the IP Phone? Is there anything I can do about it? I considered buying a more expensive phone - eg a Snom to see what they were like for echo. Is there something...

PBX to gate interface
...good wayt o do a gate intercom using Asterisk? I am
looking at a Xorcom PBX with programmable contact, so I have no issue
with opening the gate, but the interface at the gate is a bit tricky. I
thought about a weather proof housing containing a phone but it seems a
bit tacky. I also looked at a handsfree erather proof phone, but at $600
it is a bit steep. Any solutions that have been implemented successfully?

Polycom Intercom - almost there
...ot;7" so the user only has to enter in the
extension and it automatically does the intercom style feature, thus
saving a key press.
I can easily set the 3rd line key to generate dial tone:
In sip.conf
<keys key.scrolling.timeout="1"
key.IP_500.33.function.prim="Handsfree"/>
That makes a dialtone and I can dial as normal however I would like to
put the 7 in there automatically so they just have to dial. The
subPoint.prim function is an integer that references an array value so
that won't work.
Any ideas or suggestions? Just trying to keep the n...

microphone on Polycom 550/650
I have quite a number of users complaining that when they are using handsfree to talk over a landline, the other end can't hear them. It's like the person is speaking 5 feet away and can barely hear their voice. However between internal SIP calls, it's fine.
What could be the problem?

Merging Mandrake 10.1 auto_install floppy with first CD of the same distro.
Hello,
I have been struggling for long with the above.
The purpose behind attempting the same is to have a handsfree install from
the first CD (bootable) including a customised kernel and application. There
will be no user intervention required whatsoever during installation. In
this regard this is what I am trying to do. At the end of a manual install
of the above distro I can create a auto install floppy that w...

Need help selecting phones
...reseller authorized for them.
Shoretel has some nice looking phones, but I don't want to be forced
into buys their PBXs as well.
I don't like to look of the grandstream budgetel stuff as it looks like
its name implies.
I would really like SIP, multi-line display, multiple extensions, and
handsfree.
Can someone recommend a line of phones that work well with * and are
distributed in Canada?
I'd prefer a distributor located in Canada but that is not a priority
over getting a good line of phones that I fell we can put side by side
any digital system and say we can do everything that phone...

chan_bluetooth, mobile handset as VoIP terminal?
I have been looking at chan_bluetooth, so far being unable to make it
compile with Asterisk SVN trunk.
I was wondering about the different ways it can be used. What I have read so
far implies two possibilities:
1. Asterisk pretends to be a handsfree unit, and can use the cell phone
for placing calls over the mobile network, or answer inbound calls from
the mobile network.
2. Asterisk pretends to be a phone, and you can use a headset as a VoIP
terminal (unfortunately only useful for receiving calls, as headsets
don't have keypa...

GSM phones, bluetooth and general happiness
...e a built-in set of AT modem commands. Not
surprisingly, I was able to place calls as well as receive
ring-indicators, caller-id information and call-progress information via
the virtual serial port that the phone provides over bluetooth. But
what's more, I was also able to utilize my PC as a handsfree
speakerphone -- and all this over bluetooth.
As I see it, all the pieces are available -- we got full phone control,
some form of digital audio going back and forth, call-progress
reporting. I know there's at least one bluetooth stack for linux, so
*technically* we're "there", n...

polycom custom ring tones (slightly OT)
Hi all,
Has anyone made up custom ring tones for the Polycom SIP phones? We use
different rings for different lines, but the ones it comes with are all very
similar. In the interesting of sharing, here's one I made up for paging:
<PAGE_BEEP se.pat.ringer.13.name="Page Beep"
se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.type="chord" se.pat.ringer.13.inst.1.value="12"
