Odd occurrence
...I am running Asterisk 1.4.21.2 on Suse 11.0 on a Dual Processor Dell Poweredge 1650. I recently attempted to update the BIOS and now have this happen: When the machine starts up, Asterisk runs fine. When I do a large wget or scp, the local SIP to SIP quality goes to heck in a handbasket. The only resolution I've found so far is to completely restart the machine. Obviously this is unacceptable. Has anyone else had this type of thing occur? Thanks in advance Danny Nicholas -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium...

UDF filesystem on 4-STABLE?
Hi all, I'm trying to find out if UDF support can be added to 4-STABLE. The web page http://people.freebsd.org/~scottl/udf/ says that such a thing can be found at http://www.softweyr.com/asmodai/projects/udf, but the latter URL is broken. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated. Warren

smbfs linux 2.4.24; connection loss causes total machine hang
I'm running smbfs on a Debian box with kernel 2.4.24. I would give you more information (such as my samba tools versions) if I could get into the box, but it's hung right now due to this bug. I'm mounting a filesystem from my desktop Windows box (which is right next to it; there's a D-Link in the way, though) and passing large amounts of data to it (backups). If the connection

blackmail attempt? Stable mailing list block?
I got some weird mail back, claiming that my e-mail was blocked, w/o indicating what server was blocked, after the mail appeared in the mailing list. Is this some BS shakedown? I use postfix on a DSL line forwarding to earthlink, this is hardly something that should be rare in the BSD world... the mail appeared to come from a web mail server and the first link has the following lovely text:

MD5 Collisions...
Hi everyone, Not sure if you've read http://www.win.tue.nl/hashclash/SoftIntCodeSign/ . should some kind of advisory be sent to advise people not to rely solely on MD5 checksums? Maybe an update to the man page is due ? : " MD5 has not yet (2001-09-03) been broken, but sufficient attacks have been made that its security is in some doubt. The attacks on MD5 are in the

serious networking (em) performance (ggate and NFS) problem
Dear best guys, I really love 5.3 in many ways but here're some unbelievable transfer rates, after I went out and bought a pair of Intel GigaBit Ethernet Cards to solve my performance problem (*laugh*): (In short, see *** below) Tests were done with two Intel GigaBit Ethernet cards (82547EI, 32bit PCI Desktop adapter MT) connected directly without a switch/hub and "device
