Van Dyke's Public Key Assistant
...ct sorta dies right there. If you follow the links on www.vandyke.com, they still seem to be maintaining the patch... Even if it was never going to be part of the RFC and might be only mildly popular is there a technical reason the OpenSSH project's source should not include his patch? Does it hamstring security? Anyone know if Van Dyke's license and/or copyrights would prevent a third party SSH client, from utilizing this "feature"? It looked find to me, but I have been known to do stupid things at times. That usually happens right after I assume anything. Regards, R. Gorde...

Converting SAS Code
I will offer an opinion, with which others may fairly take issue. If you are coming from SAS and wish to learn R, you should forget about SAS entirely; it is ancient and convoluted. But more to the point, as others have already suggested, you will only confuse and hamstring yourself trying to convert the programming paradigms of one language into another. Better to consider the **tasks** you wish to accomplish and learn how to approach them in the new language. I would add that this especially includes learning about R's varied data structures for which there i...

Analog Phones with Status Light Indicators
I am currently a new asterisk user and new to telephony in general. I have been looking around to implement a solution with asterisk that has many of the nice features of a proprietary PBX for a small office. The features that I am looking for that I haven't been able to find any information on are: - status light indicators for which incoming line in ringing - status light indicators for

Converting SAS Code
Regarding point 3, as a moderator I have been helping Andrew get this post out to the list over the past week. His previous attempts were encoded in some way that the listserv rejected. He sent me the post via his gmail account and viewing the source I saw it had at least both plain test and HTML an I said it was worth a try to post it. Certainly on my mail client his post displays acceptably

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Developer Policy for LLVM C API
While I understand the people committing to the primarily C++ codebase of LLVM find it as additional burden, far more number of people enjoy the benefits of an official LLVM C API support than are vocal here. While Clang maybe the first-class LLVM citizen for the foreseeable future, I can tell you LLVM is used in many more situations (I'm talking about Rust, Go, Julia, DLang, etc.) than this

[RFC] The reflink(2) system call.
Hi everyone, I described the reflink operation at the Linux Storage & Filesystems Workshop last month. Originally implemented as an ocfs2-specific ioctl, the consensus was that it should be a syscall from the get-go. Here's some first-cut patches. For people who have not seen reflink, either at LSF or on the ocfs2 wiki, the first patch contains Documentation/filesystems/reflink.txt to
