online course: SVM in R with Lutz Hamel at statistics.com
Support vector machines (SVMs) have established themselves as
one of the preeminent machine learning models for classification
and regression over the past decade or so, frequently outperforming
artificial neural networks in task such as text mining and
bioinformatics. Dr. Lutz Hamel, author of "Knowledge Discovery with
Support Vector Machines" from Wiley will present his online course
“Introduction to Support Vector Machines In R” Nov. 20 – Dec. 18 at
statistics.com.
“Support Vector Machines in R” will give you an understanding on

Follow up on parking
I`m having (a lot of) trouble changing the call parking timeout behavior.
This is my SIP context
[internal-local-only-hamel]

What I am trying to accomppish is a quick test where I park a call, wait 45
seconds, and it hangs up.
Here is my execution in the CLI:
== Parked SIP/0004f2134384-1-0943e8a0 on 101 at parkedcalls. Will timeout back

smbcontrol
All,
I want to be able to disconnect a user from a samba share. I'm using
Samba 2.2.8a on Solaris 8. If I'm reading OReilly correctly, I should
be able to use smbcontrol with the SMBD process id of the user who has
the share mounted. Here's an example:

Weird problem with parked call expiration
...omething else
in the other case.
DETAILS:
-------------
Here is what it should say in the CLI when parking the call (I use the
phone's mac address as my SIP peer name).
== Parked SIP/0004f2141234-0b13d668 on 101 at parkedcalls. Will timeout back to
extension [internal-local-only-hamel] s, 1 in 45 seconds
0004f2141234-1 being the sip peer that got the call and transferred it to
the "parking lot". This way, when the timer expires, that users is called
back.
What ACTUALLY happens is this:
== Parked SIP/0004f215aabb-0b13d668 on 101 at parkedcalls. Will timeout ba...

re: help with voicepulse connect IAX2
hello,
after playing with an asterisk configuration for voip for a few weeks i'm
trying to get outbound dialing with voicepulse going - i've cut down the
asterisk to a very minimal install (1 SIP client) to try to localize the
problem. The SIP client works fine (SIP and * on the same NAT) and could
access the demo from samples before i removed it, and can call itself - so

3.0.1rc2 LDAP - problems joining domain
Hi,
I'm back on the list ;-)
I seem to be having some trouble getting W2K machines to join the domain in
3.0.1rc2. I haven't looked at this in detail since 2.2.8a but it looks like
the account gets created in LDAP and then it has trouble setting the password
appropriately. I believe this is the relevant part of the log:

C7960 "busy" notification
Using the following defnitions with a C7960:

Samba NTFS permissions
Hi, I am new to this list.
Does samba 3 support ntfs permissions or a way to map them?
Creating a share for a user is easy but can you set different file
permissions in that share with separate ntfs permissions to give different
users permission to different areas of the share? This is on an Active
Directory network. Thank you.

Missing Macros
I read the smb.conf manual but I can't find what I want, is there any way to
get the secondary group of a user using a macro ? I want to use a perl script
to create logon script depending on the groups of the users using the root
preexec parameter in smb.conf, but they the primary group is always "Domain
users" so my script cant make the difference.
Is there any way to fix this ?
