SAMBA+LDAP in a Workgroup
Hi,
This may be a dumb question (I'm new with this), but is it possible to use
SAMBA in combination with LDAP in a Workgroup?
All the manuals and examples I can find, are talking about Domains and
PDCs.
I have to set up a new Samba server and checkout LDAP but I'm not allowed
to change the Workgroup settings...
Now we use smbpasswd...
Is LDAP worth the effort and time?

copy of smbpasswd
Hi,
I have to move our old samba file server to a new machine.
The old samba server was a RedHat8 with samba 2.2.5. The new one is SLES9
with samba 3.0.2b-3.4 SuSE
Is there a way to re-use the old smbpasswd file?
In the log-files I can see that the authentication fails when I try to
access a shared folder.
A windows client keeps on asking the login and password.
Is it possible to re-use

Testing Xen -> Unexpected error
...We''ve installed a SuSE10 (which installs Xen by default) and try to run a virutual machine.
But, we get this error message when we try to start it (see attachment)
Is this a stable version? The one that comes with SuSE 10.0?
Did we do something wrong?
Thanks in Advance!
Regards,
Tom Haerens

svn and samba - make file writable problems
Hi,
A couple of weeks ago, we moved from a Samba 2.2x to a 3.0.x server.
Everything works fine, except our svn.
SVN is not able to make a file writable.
However, we can change the read-only flag manually on a Windows XP client.
When we try to lock a file with TurtoiseSVN, we get the following error
Error: Can't get default file perms for file at
