MIGRATE SHARES always fails
Hi,
I have an Ubuntu 8.04 box running as Samba PDC (version 3.0.28a) with
an LDAP backend, and I tried to migrate a share from a Win2003 server
to the Samba box. However, running the "migrate shares" or the
"migrate files" commands always results in errors:
$ net rpc share MIGRATE SHARES data_share -S w2k3box -U <admin>
--destination=localhost

calling objects in a foreloop
I want to organize outputs from several regressions into a handy table. When I
try the following, each of my "fit_s" is replaces instead of read. Is there a
way to read from the regression summaries that does not require writing
separate lines of code for each?

Clustering and ha planning
Hello , Centos users:
My name is Leandro, I have been using Centos for 4 years and this is the
first post in this mail list.
I would like to study and introduce myself in clustering and high
availability for Centos, currently I have not experience at all about it.
I would like to ask about the newest method to achieve high availability
, load balancing on linux / Centos.
So far I have seen the

libvirt and VMWare Workstation Shared Server mode (of GSX history)
Hi everyone,
I searched previous postings and I couldn't find a definitive answer on
this..
I run a small lab of RHEL/Centos Based servers on which there's VMWare
Workstation running on a non-standard port but still manageable by tools
like VMrun (and the Fusion of Workstation GUI, of course).
I'm trying to use virsh with this setup and getting the following error

How to handle config files used by a combination of classes?
Hi,
How should I handle the combinatorics when one config file must be
built for a combination of possible classes?
Take for example the amd automounter''s configuration file, which on
Debian is found at /etc/am-utils/amd.conf. This is an INI style file
which looks like:
[fsname1]
param1=foo
param2=bar
[fsname2]
param1=baz
param2=quag
In my case I have one class of machines

XCP HA disabled? Xen Maybe?
I have two systems loaded with XCP 0.1.1 and it works well. XenMotion, Live Migrations and automated installs are fantastic.
I am wondering whty the field for ha-enabled is read-only...
Is there any way I can change this so I can enable HA on XCP? So when a host fails the other hosts takes all the guests.
What would the best way to accomplish what I need?
Would XCP be the answer or straight

Self heal problem
Hi,
I have a glusterfs volume replicated on three nodes. I am planing to use
the volume as storage for vMware ESXi machines using NFS. The reason for
using tree nodes is to be able to configure Quorum and avoid
split-brains. However, during my initial testing when intentionally and
gracefully restart the node "ned", a split-brain/self-heal error
occurred.

HCI Cluster - CentOS8 to Streams Upgrade Broken
I have a test environment. Three node HCI cluster. CentOS8 build.
Gluster as file system with standard cockpit deploy of HCI.
Converted to CentOS Streams which seemed to go fine. Did a yum update and
no issues.
Did a reboot.. and now engine will no longer start. So I can no longer
start my Virtual machines. I posted as bug

Samba w/Winbind HA cluster
We are planning to build an HA cluster of samba servers, using winbind to
authenticate against an Active Directory domain. The problem I see with
this, is that the Winbind uid mappings will not necessarily be the same on
both nodes in the HA cluster. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to
get the winbind uid and gid mappings to match on 2 separate servers?

concurrent migration of several domains rarely fails
Hi,
i have a two-node cluster with several domains as resources. During testing i tried several times to migrate some domains concurrently.
Usually it suceeded, but rarely it failed. I found one clue in the log:

gluster and HA NFS
Hello.
After working with the 3.12 flavor of gluster I learned nfs-ganesha was
replaced with storhaug in 3.11.Have people been successfully utilizing
storhaug and does any documentation exist for using it in a ha nfs
configuration or is ha in gluster so rarely used it's a non-issue for
most gluster users?
Going through the lists, it was recommended in November to not use
storhaug and if

HA-NFS AND HA-ZFS
We are currently running sun cluster 3.2 on solaris 10u3. We are using ufs/vxvm 4.1 as our shared file systems. However, I would like to migrate to HA-NFS on ZFS. Since there is no conversion process from UFS to ZFS other than copy, I would like to migrate on my own time. To do this I am planning to add a new zpool HAStoragePlus resource to my existing HA-NFS resource group. This way I can migrate

About starting nfs-ganesha
When using nfs-ganesha with GlusterFS, is it necessary to enable it with the following command?
# gluster nfs-ganesha enable
It is said that it is necessary to enable nfs-ganesha option when setting ganesha.enable on for volume.
It is said that setting of ganesha-ha.conf is necessary, but is it necessary to set up HA to use nfs-ganesha?
I would be pleased if you could tell me about HA setting

HA Mailbox Design
Hi,
We would like to implement a Highly Available Mail Server and would like
to ask advice on how to architect this.
Some details on our setup:
Currently we have only one internal mail server (Postfix/Dovecot 2.0 -
planning to move to 2.1), receiving mail from a gateway server
(filtering spam/viruses) - a Cisco Ironport - which we are considering
to replace with one (or a set of)
